I wish someone told me this when I was younger. I had an adult manipulate me as a minor and told me not to tell anyone. I ended up telling some close friends, but not my parents bc I was afraid. Nothing sexual happened, but my parents finally found out after a friend told their parent and they told mine. My parents then pulled me out of the situation. To this day, I have no clue what this person’s intentions were, but knowing what I know now, even if it truly wasn’t sexual, they were definitely up to no good. I fully intend to teach my kids that ANY secret an adult makes you promise to keep, you must IMMEDIATELY come to me or my husband.

I picked up on that too, she might want to be very thin to appear younger, some pedo females like to look almost prepubescent and they have an aversion to full figure or overweight people in general. I want to know more about her past I wonder what type of childhood Collen had, if she was SA it still does not give her the right to abuse. It seems the whole family or at least the siblings are the same way.

I made this connection when I first saw her apology (through another creator ofc cause I wasn’t going to give her the view) and I found it to be an unnecessary line but something that probably made her feel like she would be sympathized with because of it. Without the body checking context you’d just think she was making a corny joke about her weight and with context it’s weaponizing her weight as a way to make other feel bad.

Adults discussing their adult problems with children is disgusting and disturbing to me. It’s so damaging, and selfish. They are knowingly burdening and robbing kids of their childhood, and blurs and is very indicative of a predatory individual. Thank you Swoop, for making it crystal clear that kids should never apologize for being naive, because they’re children, and should never have been in that situation in the first place. When you said that, I teared up as someone who was subjected to that abuse as a child.

When it comes down to doing predatory things, society is def more blind to when a woman does it, than when it’s a male. Why else do you think Colleen got away with literally having a child stick his hand in her pants for a comedy skit and asking minors about their sex lives? A man couldn’t get away with that level of obvious predatory behavior. Had Colleen been a man she would’ve been done for as soon as she mailed underwear to a 14 year old girl, joke or not. *(But yes, there are of course gonna be people that will victim blame regardless of gender or say they don’t think it’s a big deal I agree with that).*

I get to be in the incredibly privileged position of being a small part of their healing journey by doing my part to demonstrate that there are safe men out there, and that the person who was abusive to them wasn’t doing it because that’s how all men are but instead because the abuser made those decisions as an individual. A 35 year old did this to me when I was 19 and even though I was an adult, it was freaking weird. I was (and still am as a 22 year old) in a different life stage, don’t have a significant relationship outside of friendships and family, am not thinking about having kids, still in university without having experienced full time work due to being too busy studying, haven’t owned a pet, etc… so could not relate but there were clear power imbalances. So the poop of a 30 something year old doing that with a 19 year old is weird enough, it is whole other levels of weird when you are not even an adult.

Just a few hours ago, I had to tell my kids that two of their cousins were now fatherless because the man who contributed to their DNA decided he didn't want to be a father or a husband anymore, so we were not to speak of him ever again. (This guy not only left their mother, but also signed away his parental rights to two precious little girls in the process.) I explained that we need to do our best to be as supportive as possible to their little cousins during this terrible time. It took my husband and I TWO WEEKS to figure out if and when and how we were going to handle that conversation with our kids. THAT was difficult enough, and our youngest took it especially hard. My heart hurt so much for my baby girl *and* my niece *and* her baby girls in that moment. But we've got people out here like Colleen just. . .casually trauma dumping on kids in their DMs. How in the HELL does anyone *willingly* dump that caliber of information onto a child? My kids could barely fathom what a divorce *is* , and one of them is just about the same age Adam was when all this began. Just. . .I do *not* understand these people.

But my grandfather did, and the last time I saw my grandfather he told me the cops got him for trying to pray on another child online that turned out to be a cop. Im grateful he in jail. What she did to Adam was downright cruel. Even if the grooming part hadn't happened (which it clearly did)... turning on him, blaming him publically for that tweet, cutting him off when she knew he believed they were actual friends, ostricizing him from his online friends (during lockdown, no less), ruining the internet for him... at one of the most difficult ages to survive that kind of isolation, embarrassment, loss of friendships, and online bullying to a degree most teenagers will never experience. Even if that were all she'd done: it would've been more than enough. It's just plain cruel. And what she did to Trisha Paytas, too. It's a different thing and Trisha isn't a kid but she is a person who Colleen calls a friend. Mean - just mean. She actually seems legitimately sadistic. The animals? Talking to kids with EDs about how much she loves thinness? Getting off on watching her fans bully other fans in her defense and for her amusement. Asking for videos of kids doing absolutely ridiculous things (like putting tampons in their mouths) just so she can revel in knowing that she can make demands and watch the results roll in - like some kind of test where those who send a video will be her go-to kids when she has dirty work that needs doing.

It took a lot for me to get better so I hope that you're able to get better to sometimes it's a lifelong thing for some people and sometimes there's different triggers but stress does not help at all so I hope you get away from all these horrible people because it's definitely not worth it to be around people who don't truly care about you because nobody who truly cared about you would want you to be in pain and they certainly wouldn't mock your pain that is pure narcissism just like Colleen.

It took me years to get a diagnosis, years of doctors telling me that the pain was all in my head or simply just due to me "not taking my thyroid meds" which wasn't the case at all. I was diagnosed with insomnia and depression, I was told to drink more water, and basically to do everything that I was already doing, and I felt like I was going insane because nothing helped with the pain. But then I met the right doctor who believed me and had me go see a specialist who diagnosed me, and everything got way better from there! I also ended up getting diagnosed with narcolepsy lol but I lost a lot of friends over the years because they called me a liar, hypochondriac, & an attention seeker as well. Things eventually got better for me, but life was pretty lonely for a very long time because of the pain.

Going back and rewatching because I had no context for any of this drama before watching the whole series, and I wanted to hear it again after watching part 4. The difference in body language between you and Adam talking in the first interview and all the camaraderie in the back and forth in episode 4 is significant. You can see how much more he trusts you, and to me that speaks to how much you have a) both been through in the last few months b) how much time you’ve probably been through behind the scenes supporting this young man. I can imagine how healing that feels for him at this stage, having a public figure who is actually in his corner and isn’t asking anything of him, and wants to protect him and all the others affected by all this toxicity. I have so much respect for how you approach people, Swoop. My only hope for you is, that this whole series isn’t something that consumes you, and that you’re taking care of yourself and can take some time off for self care when it’s done. I’ve been in circumstances where the drama and absolute mess of other people’s lives consumed my own, well past the point of being at all healthy. When mess feels so all-encompassing that it’s all you’re thinking about and dealing with, ESPECIALLY when it’s not yours but you feel the need to hold it for others, it can eat you alive. I hope you’re taking as much care for yourself that you’re giving to others.

I started crying when Swoop said that you're strong and will make it through. My groomer never got to meet me face to face- but he did normalize sexualization to the point he would coerce me into having cyber sex everyday. He was only a bit olde than me, but I call it grooming because I told him multiple times it was illegal and wrong and he stil pushed for sexual contact to be normalized to the point he made me send nudes and the cyber sex stuff... I honestly never thought it would end and I got fooled into believing that if he left me I would be nothing anymore. To see that some people are able to get justice, when I never can or will for the multiple instances in my life I was SAed and groomed, makes me feel happy for them. I am glad when people can publicly say and get justice for what these evil people did. I am sorry for what you went through too, my groomer actually does know my address and I do get scared everyday to even go outside in fear he possibly is in my area trying to get me again. Colleen is not a victim. She is making victims. There is a difference. As someone who has had past experiences with being groomed, my heart aches for Adam, and everyone else who has gone through something similar. No one deserves to be treated like that, especially when they were nowhere close to being in the wrong. I seriously hope that every one of Colleen’s victims can find peace and heal ❤ And, as someone who has also had a past with an autoimmune disease and steroids, Alex’s experience hits really close to home. Many people don’t understand that the weight you gain from being on steroids is literally unavoidable. In my case, I was a child. I was bullied relentlessly for being overweight. I was six. I could not help it. So my heart goes out to Alex as well. To be shamed and harassed for something that isn’t your fault does nothing but add to the constant pain that’s already being inflicted by a disease you had no say in having. It hurts me more to realize that this is the first time hearing about Alex’s story. So thank you Swoop for giving victims a voice and making the silenced feel heard.

I didn't speak up about it until I was 13 and for so long I thought I was over it and after nearly 3 years of trauma therapy I thought I had no emotions connected with it. But the speech at 1:43:26 made my inner child feel a sense of peace she never got before. As a survivor, you always think you know it's not your fault until someone tells you it's not. That's when you realize you much blame has been put on you. To any former victims, or anyone who's currently going through the thick of it; it is, has never been, and will never be your fault. I belive you. You were never at fault. No matter how much your abuser (or anyone else) tells you otherwise. This didn't really have anything to do with this video but I just had to say that.

Hearing these people's stories is so important and they literally so strong and brave. I really hope for healing for all of them 💙 I'm also TERRIFIED for Colleen's children. I can't believe she's a mother after hearing how she treated literal children and animals. Bone-chilling to think of her as a parent.

Love seeing “older” people stand up for the youth! Your support means so much. We often see the older adults defend or be indifferent to what almost all of us have gone through to some extent. Kind of a “I got through it, so you all should have to too” sort of attitude. Very refreshing whenever someone flips that script.

Holy shit, i know this is not a thing to be focusing on right now, but the way she abandoned him in dublin, in an area with a very high rate of pickpocketing for dublin (the wax museum on Westmoreland street isnt in an unsafe area, but its also not the best, yknow! Its a city!) knowing his parents werent even going to be with him?? Jesus! She not only is an unsafe party for him to be around, she's also putting him in unsafe situations by abandoning him on his own in a city he doesn't know as a teen.

Thank you for bringing light to grooming, I was abused in this way by so many people I didn’t know it wasn’t normal until I became an adult and started seeing videos that educate people. So thank you for always coming in with facts, documentation, and personal testimonials. You’re phenomenal!

"As a 20-year-old I'm going to defend my 17-year-old self" that line was powerful. Adam you deserved better. I'm in my mid 30s and through work I sometimes end up working with teens. I cannot imagine having any of these weird conversations with them, or dumping my emotional issues on them. That's such an abuse of power, and so deeply inappropriate. It's creepy and gross and just thinking about it makes my skin crawl.

Right? I dont understand how older people even feel like theyre truly communicating with a person, not just talking to a child. The whole “we could talk about anything with one another”… no you cannot. Adult issues are just *different* and a child isnt gonna know what those issues even feel or look like, shit like divorce and financial issues. How does someone have just zero sense of guilt or shame or miscommunication??? Why would someone even put their trust in a child that way?? Maybe the anxiety from sharing with a child is part of what makes them abusive groomers. They need that shit under their own control 100%

@@Princesssmellyseriously, I have my friends who are my age, or my mentors who are older, to vent to or seek advice from. If I'm with a KID I'm going to be very mindful of healthy boundaries, and presenting a steady, responsible adult to them. It doesn't mean you can't have a nice chat, but my god, as the adult you absolutely must have respect for how young they are, how much power you hold as an adult, and what topics aren't appropriate to discuss! Talking about your sex life?? With a child??? That's so incredibly messed up and she cannot pretend that she didn't realize that telling a 13yo this kind of stuff was awful and wrong

She's disgusting, and as a woman that has been SA'd and had older men try to groom me starting from the age of 12, I believe male victims. I want their voices to be heard, I want them to feel safe to talk about these things, and I want them to be able to get help. There is a thing out there that it's "hot" for young men to get sexual attention from older women, and that needs to stop.

One extra detail is that Derry is Northern Ireland, a different country to the Republic of Ireland. Meaning not only did she ask a minor to travel to meet up alone, but also to cross a country border 😳

As a male survivor of repeated SA we do exist, and we need to be more open about that reality and help those who have been victimized. I’m thankful for the support of those who loved me enough to add their strength to my own as I did the hard work of being treated for late onset PTSD, and taking my life back. You’re not alone, you matter, and you can make it. 1 in 6 men and 1 in 5 women have been abused in this way. It hits me hard every time I hear about it. Thanks for making this video, and sharing your own survival story. Your strength is inspiring to many.

I remember being like, 13?, and watching that Netflix show of hers. It was SO BAD. I was left with the idea that fibromyalgia was a "fake illness" and that everyone claiming to have it was faking. I only unlearned that stupid mentality and truly understood when I started getting sick myself with chronic illness and was facing ableism all the time. Colleen's content does actual damage.

I'd like to point out Mirroring is usually a normal part of a healthy relationship. It doesn't mean either one is narcissist. It's normal to mirror habits unconsciously, when you are in love with someone. The more time you spend with your loved one, the more you might notice you tend to do similarly to him/her. Small things, like yawning the same way. It's important to make this clear, because especially younger people can take the mirroring part as a sign of a toxic relationship when it's not at all. Combined to everything else on the list, yes, it CAN be a sign of a narcissist but if you're not a licenced therapist or a doctor, you shouldn't go thru lists and diagnose others alone. Mirroring on its own certainly does not even suggest narcissistic behaviour. I've survived a relationship with one, so I should know.
