Working as a climbing arborist it's crucial to have the right gear for the job. I really like this lanyard but it's time for a new rope to make it smooth and nice to use again.

The Zillon seams to be fine, would love to try it. I own the gillon, it is nice but I think the zillon is more natural when you grab it like a prusik. The gillon is nice for me because it can be used on stationary rope for a decent and as lanyard as well. Thanks for sharing and have fun on monday. Stay safe

Does the rope fray and cause the mechanism to bind. That commercial shrink wrap is awesome. It shrinks so much more than the store variety and is thicker. Stay safe out there.

Currently testing out Teufelberger Tachyon (doesn't change size even when wet) rope with distal knot and Shizll Ropeslider (can be also pinto or other pulley) for positioning as my lanyard setup, works great and can easily change parts and try different configurations.. But having also used zillon I definitely agree that it is a great positioner, definitely like it a lot more than art positioners..
@CaseySnyder3 жыл бұрын
I didn't like the Zillon as much at first, but after buying the Petzl Sequoia saddle I may go back to it. Right now I'm using either the Teufelberger Hipstar or occasionally I use the ART Positioner 2.

I like the gadget videos. Looks like a double fisherman’s for your stopper knot? There is a guy on tree stuff who calls it a knife knot, he says that you may need to untie it, I thought that was funny.🇨🇦

I love my P Zillon. Consider replacing the carabiner with a double locking snap at the end. It's nice for not having to tinker and look for your D-Ring. Always one handed stuff where you can get it done blindfolded😁

Say, isn't a female lumberjack called a lumberjill? Not trying to be sexist but I believe there is a historical precedent. Love the videos!
@Femalelumberjack3 жыл бұрын
Yes but then a lot of people dressed up in sexy halloween costumes and called them selves lumber jills and now most of the images that show up if you google lumber jill do not represent the kind of work that I do and therefore I call myself Femalelumberjack
@n.s.raleigh41623 жыл бұрын
@@Femalelumberjack I totally hear you there. I had no idea female lumberjacks had to put up with the same treatment that nurses and librarians do on Halloween😳. Oh how sheltered I am. Anyway, keep the videos coming! I like your no nonsense approach to explaining things and your gear giddiness is downright contagious! Tree work can be such a boys club sometimes so your channel is definitely a breath of fresh air!

To be honest the old one looked absolutely fine and could have just done with being thrown in the washing machine but hey it’s your money , and before putting in the new lanyard it would have been beneficial to give the Zillon a clean in some warm soapy water and let dry out before putting it all back together .
@Femalelumberjack3 жыл бұрын
I did wash it already but it didn’t help that’s why I decided it was time for a new one. Sure I could have cleaned the Zillon but I did that when I cleaned the rope so it wasn’t that dirty
@richie15933 жыл бұрын
@@Femalelumberjack ok that’s good to hear but it still looked like a perfectly good lanyard , can I ask how long you had it in use for as I’ve had lanyards for 5+ years with no issues ?
