It would nearly be an impossible task without it Kevin, is is gone expensive but honestly it is a necessity. My renewal was €1800 , I also have Haynes which is around €900. I must take a look at the alldata package. I like what I see of guys using it on KZfaq 🤔👍👍👍

I changed to Logicat (haynes pro) from autodata as I was finding to many holes in autodata info. It's still goot it's shortfalls but at least the price doesn't make me feel so bad about them.

@@kennedysgarage3281 I think Sandy Anderson has a subscription to Alldata might would be worth getting his views I’ve heard good things about it especially the wiring diagrams.

I've been trying to buy a subscription with alldata but due to their licensing they are very careful to who they supply. They told me sorry can't help you as I'm not in a EU/EFTA region. I live in Europe so I can't make them out.

@@danthecarman8440 strange one that mate i recently sighted up to mechanic mindset Darren uses Alldata and there’s a link to obtain a free months subscription but looks like you need to be a mother trade business to qualify I’m an employee mechanic so I doubt I’d qualify.

Thank you Dylan, the knocking noise is coming from the exhaust camshaft & some of the hydraulic tappets after failing. I have a video recorded on this fault & will but it up this weekend for you to see 👍 Do you know if or when the intake manifold might have been decarbonised??

@@kennedysgarage3281 I don't think a decarbonisation has ever been done to it, from what I can see in the service history anyways - though it was always done at a main dealer and every 8k since the car hit 100k, so they may not have felt it necessary. Sounds good, it's hard to find any videos with the same sort of noise, so I'll be interested to hear and watch yours 👍 genuinely thought the big end bearings or the crankshaft bearing was shot when I started it. Would the exhaust cam get quieter as the engine heats up also?

@@dylc413 no it wouldn’t get much quieter, does yours?? It would definitely be worth looking inside the intake manifold, also look closely at the bolts you will nearly see if they have been removed anyway recently 🤔🤔👍

@@kennedysgarage3281 yeah I notice it's extremely loud, to the point where one of the mechanics in work told me it's probably the crank bearing gone - but drive the car for a while, let it heat up and the noise nearly disappears. The only thing I've found that comes close to the same noise is when the swirl flap actuator dies on the 1L Corsa engine. However I can't seem to find where the actuator is on the 2.2 skyactiv to troubleshoot without pulling the whole inlet off. Which looks to be a pig of a job. I'll definitely have a look, there definitely was some work done recently - it had a service in February, along with new injector seals (the little copper ones). But I don't think the manifold was touched, and if the amount of carbon in the exhaust sensor was anything to go by, I won't like what I see. I was talking to the guy I bought it off and he mentioned that all of the 2.2s he has sound the same, and apparently it's common, saying "they're a very cam-y engine". But I've never heard it before on any diesel.

@@kennedysgarage3281 autel is much cheap on the updates Do you think your customers actually realize how much work goes into sorting there cars coz I don't we have had people that think you are a fitter and that you should know I'm self taught took me 3 year to read and Wright and when diagnostics came in its mind blowing and as you will know Peter everyday is a learning game in the car trade keep up the great vids and give marvel a nice bowl of raw dog meat to keep his strength up 💪

See everyday is a school day, I didn’t want to call it a BSI incase I was wrong. So I just went with multifunction control module as it was on Autodata. I also never knew what BSI meant 😉😂😂😂

Here's the thing... it's £102.86, brand new, from the stealers. By the time you pay someone to take it apart, clean it and postage both ways, you are already at £60-70 minimum. I'd rather just pay £30 more and get one brand new.

Oh yes apologies for that. The steering wheel locked and the key didn't want to turn. The car was towed and the ignition was taken out and it got fixed, the key could turn. However, it was not put back into the car. And instead, the car was started without the ignition being present. Therefore, the car stopped running and didn't respond anymore. The ignition was put back in and the car won't start now. So my question is, what could possibly be the problem? I hope I've explained it better now😅

@@_Ninjawarrior absolutely perfectly Dineo 🙏, it just sounds like after it was tried to be started without the immobiliser chip in the key, it then failed to recognise the key afterwards. Is the immobiliser aerial around the ignition switch plugged in and fitted correctly?? You can get a little aerial tester on eBay for around €10. Handy to have. The go to a automobile key shop to get the key tested, the can see if it transmits information. Start there & see 🤞🤞

ST Auto Lock Inspection Loop Car Locksmith Immobiliser System Check Diagnostic Search this 😉

Code scan on log the faults. Then look at fuel pressure, engine speed, air flow & cam/crank correlation. Egr position might be a good one too. Try spraying in a fuel source too, if the engine runs it is mechanically good 👍
