4:17 You don't need to remove the plastic clip, just press it down and it can be disconnected. With the screwdriver you can break it.

Thanks for a very instructive video. I get an intermittent engine fault warning. Sometimes not a problem, but last time resulted in significant fuel starvation, so car had to be nursed up to 70 mph, parked on a slope and problem disappeared!. High pressure fuel pump? So how long did this job take you please? Excellent and interesting video.

Yeap mine was constantly. And power loss . Overall it took about 30 minutes. But was videoing too. Quite simple job as long as have tools.. only 2 little things to point out.. 1. When taking out the 3 screws on hpfp be careful not to drop them down in engine pipework.. same on replacing them . I actually used a small piece of chewing gum on end of ratchet to stop it falling off... 2. The little white clip on fuel hose only goes on one way round . If wrong way round the pipe comes off . . . Oh and sent to guy on ebay .returned in 3 days . Car now perfect.. for now 😅

Hi Darran, Thanks for this video. I have the same year and model RCZ as you and the p0087 code, limp mode and a whirring noise either coming from the fuel pump or somewhere close to the battery. I am going to attempt this removal to send away for refurb and was wondering what tools were needed and also if any of the bolts require torque etc.

All standard tools . Socket set, screw drivers and torx bits . Think pump was a T15.. mines run fine since i did mine quite a while ago now . No codes at all. Was constantly changing coils every few months before.

Kept getting error codes on cold start up saying cylinders 1-4 faults. Changed all coils and plugs.. still happened.. rcz forum advised hpfp fault . Will see outcome when back from being refurbished.

Just ordered one for my 208 gti, it's from peugeot in France, €450 and its called an exchange hpfp, Its obviously refurbished by Peugeot and I get a year warranty or if fitted by Peugeot themselves it's 2year warranty. Will you let me k ow if this fixed your cold start issues and the fault code p0087, Tia
