A friend of mine went to the same church as my wife and me. He played guitar and owned a music store. This was about 1979. So he invites me to a Phil Keaggy concert. And I'm like - Who is Phil Keaggy? Oh my gosh! I was not the least disappointed!! Every Christian concert I've attended was an incredible experience!!

I think Phil was in a band called ‘Glass Harp’ back in the days of yore. Great to reconnect after 50 years. JZ

Hello! Thank you for the kind words. This clip came from a school project at MTSU (Middle Tennessee State University). We were tasked with orchestrating a live concert with Phil and I directed and was one of many editors on the final DVD. Unfortunately, at this moment the DVD is only for the students, faculty, and Phil. I wish that Phil would distribute it because as you know he is an amazing musician. Again, thanks for watching and for the kind words.

I have given away more of Phil's Plip Side cassette tape to my non believers friends than any other. I used to do large conventions, and I would use that tape to check sound levels, and the client always wanted to know Who that was. I gladly shared the wonderful Philly ❤️ Viva Cristo Rey 😎✌️

Another element that makes Phil a master is his variety of styles. I have CDs with calypso, techno, blues, classical and rock. He's only had 2 lessons in his life, and plays with only 9 fingers.
@christopherskipp15252 ай бұрын
Why doesn't he use the other finger?

That organ player is also pretty talented. Maybe not as talented as Phil Keaggy, but Phil's no dummy. He surrounds himself with great players.

This drummer is spot on. Probably the best drummer I’ve ever heard that played with Phil. Not over or under played. Tight, in the pocket, awesome fills that complements the whole band with a perfect balance. Does anyone know who he is?

Jimi Hendrix was asked what it's like to be the best guitarist in the world and his reply was "Phil Keaggy is the best guitarist in the world"
@marjorieanderson86266 ай бұрын
Hendrix died just a few months after Keaggy graduated HS. Keaggy's band was breaking out about the time Hendrix OD'd. Glass Harp did record their first record in Hendrix' studio. But it was shortly after Hendrix had died.

I always have an issue when the live version of a song deviates too far from the recorded version. Also not a big fan of the hammond organ as when he solos he deviates too far from the original tune.
