There's no one in this world that knows marketing like you and therefore there is no one who can explain and teach what marketing truly is besides you. Thank you so much for your help and valuable time. I could learn from you forever!

I've been a Kotler fan for years, but this is old thinking when it comes to CEOs not being former CMOs. Modern CMOs know more about the financials and analytics as any finance person (with the exception of derivatives, etc.). Serious CMOs (those with quantitative/analytics capabilities) have the necessary knowledge to both react to market conditions as well as determine them.

He said he wished that more CEO’s came from Marketing. And he said that because CEO’s tend to be more from finance side

"Mr Customer, we know your values and they are our values too.!" Excellent speech by Kotler as always.. More than anything, very glad to see him advocate societal marketing to measure a company's success by considering its social and environmental impacts and not just financial performances.

Question- When managing marketing channels, (the place in the 4p's) where does category management fit in? Bert Rosenblom wrote a comprehensive book called Marketing channels, but CATEGORY MANAGEMENT is not once mentioned in his book, when managing Distribution Channels? All comments are welcome.
So much knowledge in one hour 👏Thanks a lot,Mr. Kotler...You are really Father of Modern Marketing 💪

Learn what exactly? Nothing practical only blah blah about who is number one and number two. This is a very subtle method used to market the number one and number two and let us say maybe the two more following as they could be owned by the same share owners but disguised in self companies. Just another tool for penetrating that market in Asia by a conglomerate of companies owned by we know who. He talks about quality but if you want to launch a product you will be covered in trash thrown on your product by the "conglomerate". Just look at this maneuver where Chinese people get used to the name of his company as the one to go to. How to compete with that if you have a product and want to sell in China? So, all this mambo jambo is as useful as a wish lantern for the ones not knowing how things function and who puts them in motion. The gent is prepared for his purpose though, can't say anything about that and despite his age he is a very good example of professionalism that you'd have to have if you want to follow your purpose.
