Tarp ness Please re-read what I wrote, the fact that someone may have high anxiety does not excuse the fact that to doubt and worry about God's sovereign promises is still SIN because to not trust God is a characteristic of unbelief which is sin. The Lord called Peter one of "little faith" because he began to DOUBT while walking on water which lead to him falling (Matthew 14:22-33). Peter doubted because he was afraid, does that make him any less Christian? No. You misinterpreted what I said and took it out of context, I hope I have cleared that up.

The country is full of religious manipulators and technology that can create anxiety. This is NOT God's will and He also is omniscient of these causes. Perhaps the greater sin when people are under attack is the lack of encouragement, prayer and support.

I agree. :) He's very passionate and tells the truth with no shame or apprehension, and often--or at least in my experience, Christians like that can come off as kind of...gruff or harsh. But he just seems so kind. I mean, even if an atheist or something disagrees with him on every account, it can't be denied that he is gentle and kind man, or at least makes great effort to convey that.

You are a living breathing walking testimony of the storms that God has carried you through You were saved from death of horrible situations because your purpose in this life is not finished yet. You are a very strong willed unique person. Your testimony of surviving against all odds is living proof that you can do anything thru God. God is still in the miracle making business. Keep your faith in the Lord. I hope this is going to give you a new vision of life.

If you teach others to be free from sin, u must also be free from sin. The bible says that the teachers get judged more strictly because they the ones who can either lead people to false truth or Gods truth (death or salvation). How can you teach people when you are too selfishly attached to your sin? This does not mean we dont serve people, but we should consider our lives to be an example of what a christian of God should be. 1 sin is all it takes to break the whole law, thats why we have Jesus because he gave us the gift of repentance and power to help us be free from sin if we choose him to be the top love of our lives

customjrod Your works don't please God, unless they are works that come out of faith. Your current motive shows your lack of understanding of what God wants. If you're not wanting to hear the Gospel, you're not saved. Those are God's Words. Being saved is not going to church, being baptized, then being nice. It's hearing and accepting of Christ, trusting and believe in Him that God rose from the dead, our Lord and Savior, God's precious only begotten son, Jesus Christ. That is only half of faith, the other being the behaviors that come out of that faith being works for God to other people, showing love to all, even enemies, so that you are a witness of Him who saved you and that you trust him to forgive you when you slip and sin, KNOWING He is just. You need to start by praying and telling God you accept the Gospel of Christ and asking Him to guide you on His path. Then, STUDY the Bible daily, praying for knowledge and understanding while searching His Truth. Being baptized in water and joining a church isn't salvation, brother.

I recommend the KJV - it's a very faithful translation, doctrinally sound, beautiful in its poetry, and to the extent it's a bit foreign sounding in its composition (thine, wherefore) it forces me to slow down when reading to comprehend nuanced phrases or turn the words over in my head to give room to hear God's message for me. If the form/verbiage is a roadblock to you I think the ESV is good and easier on the ears. Please do not rely on the new living or message translations for your meat and bread. You can find plenty of thoughtful criticisms of them (and probably for any translation). While I know some people I believe to be faithful disciples who don't find a problem with those last two, it's always after a deep grounding in a faithful translation, plenty of study to solidify their foundation, and only then as a secondary or tertiary paraphrase rather than relied on for a direct reference. I don't think those translations should be called Bibles. I can paraphrase a verse to explain it one way or when I don't have it memorized, but I wouldn't call my paraphrase scripture. May God grant you to be strengthened with power through His spirit in your inner being. Soli Deo gloria!

Sydni Demers Closest English versions to original would be NASB or ESV. HCSB is also a quality translation that has more readability. Remember that Greek and Hebrew are simply different languages. When one translates a language, it is possible to "literally" translate it-and have the meaning entirely lost in translation. Important to balance getting the right words and getting the right meaning.
