🇳🇱 Philips DCC 600 Repair (Attempt): Part 1 [TCE

Жыл бұрынWhilst I was firmly in the MiniDisc camp back in the 90s, I still appreciate different audio technologies such as Digital Compact Cassette.
This DCC 600 deck doesn't work (I've got a smaller DCC 380 that does) - it'll load digital and analogue tapes but won't read them.
So first, I pull it apart to see what's actually inside, then do some research (i.e. watch everyone else's repair videos), and ... hopefully ... get it working again.

The gear needs to be replaced, all these old gears break inside the DCC 600's. I had the same problem and replaced it in my DCC 600 too.

When I pushed PLAY the pinch roller and the HEAD did not move up. Would you tell me what’s happening and how can I fix it. Thanks

Normally the problem is the belt and cleaning the head. Especially with these decent second generation units. Advise: Always try with (analog) recordable tape first as the tape might get eaten and prerecorded tapes are more expensive to very expensive 😁. Second advise: Always back and forth prerecorded DCC tapes before trying to play them.

hopefully it just needs new belts... ...and ya CPC belts fit! LOL

Let's see ... I've got to pull the whole mechanism out I think (according to Service Manual) ...

@@Brfff yeah doesnt look like a simple fix...looks like the whole mechanism gotta be torn down.. least ya will find out how it works!

Hey Brett, did you ever fix the DCC600 - I have precisely the same problem (it occurred less than two weeks ago - precisely when it was actually needed! Been running fine up until then) 😢

If the problem is in the electronics then you can forget it.

Yep, pretty much - I read the DCC head is quite sensitive to static ... so replace ... but DCC Museum might be able to help ... let's see
