Actually, its not because of a Dolby Vision display but a test for the HDR settings to be turned on... Fun fact: Every pixel has RGB channels with values from 0-255. On older TV, the levels were capped: from 16-235 (I don't know why, maybe to save bandwith?). The levels from 0-16 were black (when there is no difference in color, so 0 has the same "look" as 5, 7, 14, 15...) and so with the bright ones. With HDR enabled you gain the full range from 0-255. The fact that the trailer seems to become "dark grey" is because the level of "black" is 16/16/16 (RGB) in that pixels. When he says "THIS is black", the trailer switches to 0/0/0, to make the difference clear. :)

I think full brightness should only come from the tv itself, everything else should operate a 50% maximum, you'll have a better immersive experience rather than a festival experience
@reanetsemoleleki82193 жыл бұрын
Yeah, that's what I'm thinking. This seems potentially distracting.
@obimitt.3 жыл бұрын
well i would assume you will be able to easily adjust that, but for presentation purposes it makes sence to have them on max
@Clankillas3 жыл бұрын
Dude, you are assuming that the other lights operate at full brightness when they don’t. They are maxed at full brightness so that the Hugh sink box can control them for a minimum to maximum and we’ve witnessed the extra lights going from minimum to maximum in the presentation so why would you assume that they are operating at max to be a distraction? You are assuming that the sink box isn’t doing its job appropriately when it is. From what I was watching the TV had most of the focus on it and whatever else is illuminating is only to give you an immersive experience as if you are right in the middle of everything instead of it just being focused in front of you. You don’t understand immersive visualizations, that’s why you commented it appropriately.
@pj60733 жыл бұрын
