@@alecthenice8115 It was before him... they had drones in hacker circles that do these same things as a stingray. Back then wired reported you or a hacker could potentially diy one for about 4 to 5 thousand in parts and drone. And then it would basically capture anything between you and a big tower, and then mitm resend as if you were an extender to the tower,essentially... very old and used still to this day depending on your area laws. my local county boys have it, so i know.

@@StephenGillie dam! For what it's worth, of my small understanding, this would be because or related to how every phone is programmed and the the frequency used transmitting and as u said, throwing away data, which in all reality makes even more sense if I'm on the same page or right track. I can attest to I most likely have been stingrayed, while on the interstate, definitely not by uniformed cowboys, and why they made it so obvious was a very simple mistake on their part, maybe I at least try to pay attention to my surroundings at all times, nevertheless. Learning this shit is very interesting, time consuming discerning facts, and well worth the piece of mind if the facts are concrete. No. If your little brain could have remembered the video you watched 5 seconds before you asked that question, it would remember that it was about the ILLEGAL use of them, not their existence.

Call and text data is not encrypted. But if they installed a RAT on your device, the encrypted web data isn't going to help you. Remember Pegasus? Yeah, the CIA was already doing something like that before Pegasus was even a thing, they had a zero day exploit that could allow them to remotely install the virus onto your phone via connecting to their stingrays. That specific exploit was patched after wikileaks, well, leaked it of course. But it would be foolish to think that makes you safe.

could maybe set-up a snitch system for inside the police so that there is a cash-prize for snitching on police officers who violated the law... just saying, might help with corruption [if used properly, with evidence-based snitching, not whack stick for corrupt]. Hope you have a great day & Safe Travels!

Take a listen to episode 913 of "Security Now" about the Chick-Fil-A incident and their take on this incident. It is more realistic. Start listening at 119:00. It has to do with third party login function from facebook

Long time subscriber, I like your videos. This one makes it look like Joe Biden Started the stingray usage in the US, which is totally not true. These things have been around since the 90's and usage blew up in the US during Bush/Cheney after 9/11. Having said that tho, they should be following the law when using. Any chance on a video on How to detect if you connected to one?

time to smash my android phone, so no law enforcement agency or intelligence agency can access the contents of my phone. i need to start smashing my hard drive so the content on the hard drive can never see the light of day by anyone else. maybe you should watch the Installing GrapheneOS the Easy Way video from my favorite linux youtuber.
