"Photograph" (a poem about memories and memento's)

I've taken many photographs in my life, of people and places and while most of them were merely acts of frivolous energy, some have become priceless treasures of a golden time that I never realised I was living at the moment. When we inevitably lose touch with friends, when we ourselves leave our childhood home or when the heavy loss of a loved one strikes upon us, momentary captures become lasting relics of a time that can never be replaced; it can never be relived. We never quite know at the time of taking a photo where we will be in the future, what our lives may look like nor who will still be here to share it with us. So the next time you take a photograph just know that even though you may not intend it to be anything other than an expressing of joy, you might just be capturing the most treasured moment from your past...

It's a good job too for the photos sometimes because it isn't always easy to correctly recall the way things were. I really like this video.

Thank you 😊 Yes that’s true, I’ve found some older photos of my grandfather recently and it brought back so many memories that I’d practically forgotten all together.
