Look at subjects from several angles, be aware of what's around you, concentrate on these things and make time to be alone when you do it or you'll be distracted. I cannot do photography with mates around me because they interrupt my thinking and get bored waiting for me... MIKE

Thank you Michael. I use a kelvin setting of 5600K (daylight - also the WB of the old Kodachrome film) pretty much all the time for everything and tweak WB in Lightroom afterwards to be how I want it. Hope that helped... MIKE

Two times a year at the winter and summer solstice the English heritage allow access right up to the stones.... and luckily I live pretty close

Covid.

Mostly aperture Priority (AV) combined with lots of exposure compenastion because shooting into bright or dark areas confuses the light meter. Though first shots of stones from a distance was manual so I could be sure I was 2 stops under (camera's meter would try to make it look like daylight) and get shutter speed. Final tweaks done in Lightroom to get minimal detail in stones so it looked natural. Left to it's own devices the camera would make them into full sillhouettes. @@MikeBrowne Yeah. I don't like swapping lens as well. Shooting mirrorless in this new age one of the most annoying thing I keep getting is sensor dust. While travelling I just keep two bodies on my chest all the time so I'm always covered wide and narrow.

He's using a mirrorless camera, so there is no optical path from the lens to the viewfinder. The only risk is sensor damage if you go overboard in how much light is hitting a particular spot on the sensor. There is a direct optical path from lens to viewfinder when using an SLR (digital or film).

Hi @jordanthecat, as @David Wood said my camera has an electronic vf so no probs, if using a DSLR use common sense, get camera set up before you point it at sun and minimise time looking through it, wear sunnies and squint a bit. That's how I do it when shooting into the sun with my Nikon... MIKE
