3 Best Home Lumbar Spine Traction Options for Back Pain

For those of you who are seeking traction options at home, I've got three that you can try, all a little bit different depending on your situation, what you've got at home, if you've got any help. In the clinic we do traction for lumbar spine muscle spasm, disc bulges, problems in the lower back. It gives relief due to the gapping of that lumbar spine and it drops down little bit of that muscle spasm and muscle pain. Really effective to try and get people moving. Because in physio, whatever works in the clinic, we've got to try and work out how do I get that person doing that stuff at home. So here's three options for you.
1️⃣ Block Traction - Supine
2️⃣ Power Band Traction - Crook Lying
3️⃣ Partner Traction - Prone with Towel

I’ve been suffering from this lumbar pain for the last few weeks. I did 3 sessions with the block today and the difference it has made is incredible, thank you 🙏🏻

Great advice. I use an inversion table to great effect.

What about the 3rd traction with the towel but from supine position? Excellent video by the way

Great advice Tim. I've been using the first one as part of a general stretching routine for months now. Really helpful with, what I imagine, are my tight hip flexors.

Inversion table is the best option at home. I wouldn't be able to live without mine.
