In F-15 RTU, my instructor asked me what I was thinking as I pulled a 9 G defensive break turn. I said "not sure", when what I was actually thinking was "wow, I can only see the size of a dime", as everything else went to black.

Would a high performance drone or remote controlling a fighter possibly be a big advantage ? Or is the situational awareness more important regardless of the physical strain on the body during maneuvers.

Just wondering what it's like going from F18 to F16? Does the reclining position really help? Also what happens if a RIO can't pull as much G as the pilot?

Pilots should probably be reclined in the same way as F1 drivers. Especially since the implementation of HMD's since the cocpit layout could be more freely designed...

Fighter vs F1 peak G-forces act in completely different directions.

Literally already was tried in the F-16 Viper and found to cause other issues like the infamous Viper neck, as pilots need to look behind them. Mover can probably tell a story or two about that. More like sensor fusing and HMDs (which are heavier and would increase strain already experience by Viper neck conditions) allow reclined seats not to be used as you can use software curves on the HMDs view axis. If you want more Gs design better off-bore missiles to go along with the HMD.

Cockpit seats are typically reclined, by the degree varies between airframes.

Mover, dcs made an update to this. GrowlingSidewinder just tested the F-16 v F-15 with the new adjustments. It’s beyond 9gs. Let’s see a response to a sim brotha. Mover ruins sims. 😅
