Just seeded mine two weeks ago. Fingers crossed to see how it turns out. Did a full renovation from Jonathan green ultra black beauty which is a great choice of seed too but wanted a KBG lawn so went with Pete’s GCI blue heat.

@@TurfTherapy I’m probably going to start mine in mid February, I live in Virginia so trying to beat the summer heat. It gets quiet hot and humid and uncomfortable here . So I figured mid February would be a better idea so come March April it will be solid by May that way it will hold up in our summer heat.

Seed certification level is the description of a particular seed from the original breeder seed to whatever you buy in the store. Breeder seed - seed directly controlled by the originating or sponsoring plant breeding organization. Foundation seed - the progeny of Breeder or Foundation seed handled to maintain specific genetic purity and varietal identity. Registered seed - the progeny of Breeder or Foundation seed handled to maintain satisfactory genetic purity and varietal identity. Certified seed - the progeny of Breeder, Foundation or Registered seed handled to maintain satisfactory genetic purity and varietal identity. The closer you get to Breeder or foundation seed the more expensive the seed. Generally you’ll get certified seed from seed superstore which will be blue tag, purple tag is registered seed and white tag is Foundation or breeder.

@@MowstlyGreen Ok, so I take it that the bluebank is a top notch premium blend of seed? I tried the bewitched this year and had big issues with fungus even doing all the preventative fungicide treatments. No I'll will with it since this was a nasty year in NJ with consistent high temps and high humidity. Figured I would try a different blend..

That blend has a couple of elite seeds and a couple of run of the mill seeds. The cost however is definitely reasonable and with Nuglade, Impact and Everest you’re off to a good start
