I remember carving a copy of the Shakespeare “Swimming Mouse” out of a bit of broom handle. Painted it in yellow coach dog. The first time that I tried it my fishing friend looked at it and laughed at me, “You won’t catch anything with that!”. First cast, pike of about 6 pounds……that is an enduring memory!

I feel like building my own lures was the best way to take my fishing to the next level. Feels so much better to catch big on my own baits. 😊

Super interressantes Video... Traumgegend und der Holzjerk in Naturholzdesign spricht mir als Schreiner von der Seele... Holz zum anbeissen.. mit Biss !!! Super auch die Droneneinstellung über die eingestrippten Köder in Richtung Boot.. mit spektakulären Bissen... kenn ich so nur von den bayerischen Top Water Burschen !!!! Absolut klasse !!

I have been working on recreating some of my favourite lures in CAD and intend to 3D print some, I also have downloaded some molds for soft plastic casting, I also enjoy tying dry and wet flies and have been asked on many occasions to make them for other fly anglers, they get cheaper flies and I make a little profit, the small profit helps to buy more fly tying materials.

I made 2 15cm spoon lures for pike fishing a couple of weeks ago. Im 17 yr old finnish boy and I hope that I can catch 10 kg pike with them one day😄👍

Didn't make my own lures, but I had a phase when I was tying my own flies for a while. Pretty strange indeed as I had, at the time, no experience whatsoever with fly fishing. xD However, I did learn some fly fishing and I've caught some trouts with the flies I've tied, floaters and sinkers alike :)

When I started Muskie fishing I realized that I would need to start making my own. For $100 I could buy 3 lures or I could make a couple dozen for the same price and not cry when I lost them to the rocks.

It is a fishpro 46 by vboats! Not ideal for huge waters but works great for this type of fishing

Guys, could you tell me. Im fishing for pike in the UK. Within 1-2 hours of sunrise it is dead no follows nothing. Your videos seems to be filmed all during daytime even on sunny days and you still catch? Is this because our water temperature in lakes or rivers is higher or lower maybe?

@@pikeguy1639lakes at this time of year as rivers are closed. Most waters are very clear water and very weedy. Fishing cranks, maybe some jerks. Max 12cm

@@thepikeangler2022 ok. you could try using a softbait with a slow retreiv, i fish in sweeden in small rivers in thee middle of nowhere and i use softbaits, jerkbaits at the 15 - 20cm length, some even longer. This year ive caught loads of pike just by fishing slowly so thats thee only tip i have.

@@pikeguy1639don't get me wrong I'm catching fish for the first few hours it just goes off pretty quickly so your fishing is short sessions.
