It's not literally that bad, here, but taxiing at DFW always feels like we landed in Oklahoma and had to drive the rest of the way to Texas. Don't get your hopes up when the wheels touch down.

@@trappedoctopus crossing a runway threshold line is a big no no with out any clearance from the tower the number is to report what you did and serious consequence are then taken for the pilot. A lot of the time they can lose there certificate as a pilot.

Usually, when you hear the "please copy this phone number" means your're very, VERY likely to loose your pilot license. In this case, it could have been catastrophic, as entering an active runway without clearance could have led to a nasty collision between two aircrafts... @@trappedoctopus

@@F-HAWKno, usually, that’s not what it means. Usually they want to discuss what has happened and see if lessons are learned and if they need to take it further. A lot of times, it’s to work out confusions. Will this pilot lose his license? No. Nobody loses a career over a mistake.

I watched a lot of ATC videos. I happens from time to time. Especially when Harrison Ford landed on the taxiway instead of the runway. If you find that ATC video, they also included Ford's phonecall to the tower.

That eurofighter pilot has some crazy reaction time! considering i had to rewatch the video just to see the bird whilst he dodged it, kept his focus AND stayed in the air!!

0:54 My uncle was a RAF pilot including EE Lightning, he part designed the typhoon back in the late 80`s/ 90`s when he worked for the MOD. He has great respect for birds and literally will not hurt a fly. If a fly enters his house he will catch it in tissue and put it outside 😁

@@axeladdesso2648 often times the number will be of the tower's. Tower will discuss the situation with the pilot and depending on situation tower may file report to FSDO or even straight to enforcement.

About the 1:00 clip: Currently in jet training for the USN- I've been taught, as with a deer, that it is far more dangerous to maneuver to avoid hitting a bird than it is to hit a bird. At that low airspeed, you're more likely to go uncontrolled (and be potentially out of the ejection seat's envelope) than you are to 1. ingest the bird AND 2. flameout (especially at MRT which I'm assuming the RAF pilot was at)

So the pilot can call the tower to discuss the mistake and either take the scolding, or give their perspective of what they think happened. The conversations are recorded and if necessary passed on to the FAA for investigation.

@@expertdr0724 potentially, if serious enough. A runway incursions is serious, so could be fined or have some conditions set on their license etc.

@@expertdr0724they could, if they find the mistake was due to incompetence or negligence. But more than likely it’s due to miscommunication or confusion. Basically, if it’s an honest mistake, nobody will get punished and everybody will learn from this mistake to make things even safer.
