Good video 👍 I don’t think flying “over” SSSI land is illegal though. It may be an offense in certain circumstances (eg: if you disturbed some protected birds etc) but generally speaking you can fly over as long as you take off/land on public property. Cheers, Steve

Well that's encouraging, wow I will look at the small print, if so there must be lots rules, height. I'm keen to gather the evidence so as to argue the point legally if challenged, thanks a mill 👍

@@southernaudits might be different with larger drones but I think we are ok with sub 250g drones (which a lot of old websites etc don’t even mention) On a slightly different note.. I flew over RAF Menwith Hill a few weeks back. You would certainly think this wasn’t allowed… but it is (for now at least, but could be changing) kzfaq.infoJe-uIn9eXeE?si=y8k7je9pl6cMdO9du

@@southernaudits That's right, it's rare that you can't fly over a sssi - most are designated for geology or plants so no worries, but sometimes it'll be for nesting birds which is seasonal - go to Natural England, find the SSSi and read the section labeled ONERC for greater detail.

Enjoyed the vid thank you and I also enjoyed the way you interacted with security etc, there's no need to be offensive unless given good reason. Best way to get information out of people, costs nothing to be nice, usually LOL.

I do like your videos for comedic value as well as telling a story of places. I don't know the word for what you're doing - but basically i see it as you mocking / challenging authority to within a nm of the law.

Yes thats an angle along with taking people to interesting/unusual places for the views and other info. We enjoy exercising our rights of drone use and freedom of photography, thanks for your comment appreciated.

@Southern Audit, what could you possibly see or film there that's a secret?! Either they are being overly protective or else they are doing stuff there that is off the books. They do still keep the buildings, the interior landscape and the outside landscape very nice. I bet none of those buildings were made up of any RAAC, though.

Lol, because your not a frigging 'Three', customer. It's hardly worth having a 4/5g phone, no signal 😕 But I've learnt o2 RULE in the area due to the military using O2 on their Camps.

But it always takes one person making content like this to get drone laws really strict. If there's no trespassing if the drone is on the property your trespassing on your trespassing with the drone. But this is more of a reason for the CAA to press drone laws and end the hobby as we know it cause people think it okay to fit anywhere they want.

If the Drone in in the airspace, it's not trespass. As long as your feet are on public spaces.
