As a child growing up Pineapple Upside -Down cake was always my Birthday cake which my mother made in a cast iron skillet. I just had my 80th Birthday and my dear friend surprised me with my favorite Birthday cake. Brought back so many many sweet memories of Birthday,'s from the past to the present. It looks wonderful. I like that you do everything from scratch. Also I was glad that you didn't discredit those of us who were taught by some from the old school. Because that's how my aunts, my mom,and I have learned. Even now many times when I try to 'go by the recipe' it doesn't go vert well.
