Steven left in the end just like Rose and Greg did, but he does it better than they ever did. He says goodbye. And Garnet confirms that he will keep in touch, for the rest of his life, no matter what. Steven leaves his home, but he doesn't leave his family. And to be fair, because of how good his relationship with the gems and his father is, he doesn't need to leave them behind. He didn't come from an authoritarian style family the way Rose and Greg both did. It all rings true to Rebecca Sugar's sentiment of 'everything stays, but it still changes.' the cycle is both broken, and it continues

In other words Pink was being Oppressed by her fellow Diamonds leaving her Psychological Traumatized in ways that not only negatively effected Pink herself, but also those around her, if only there was a way Pink could have received Therapy for all of her issues she might have been able to reach a greater potential & change Gem-kind for the better, yet her Son was able to accomplish that which she failed to do, but even That took a toll on him, and history ended up repeating itself because Steven began seeing his mom as more of an Antagonist then a Victim during the events of Future.

Is it just me that notice but in the movie spinel use the jupitator to rest the gems even Steven’s. So Steven future episodes are basically his gem reset to early pink diamond. That’s why he couldn’t have much control.

Dang this was amazing to hear, and I love how it all just makes so much sense too. (Also, I remember hearing in another video that Pink Diamond underestimates the value she has in the lives of those around, due to the way the diamonds treated her. She probably thought Spinel would eventually get bored of waiting for her and move on, not realizing they’d spend the rest of their existence waiting for her to come back, similar to how she probably thought the diamonds wouldn’t care if she disappeared, instead of being heartbroken at losing her)
