Listen to the original vinyl: m.kzfaq.info/get/bejne/rMd9oZVh1LCYcpc.html ... and you will understand for yourself that the remastered version in 2011 has nothing wrong! Exactly! You get it! The only thing I could do to even get close to that feeling again was to purchase the Endless River CD when it came out and not open it. I waited two years. And then finally broke the seal. The reason being was because with the passing of Richard Wright this was it. Once I listen to this album, it's all over . No more. Hope you enjoyed the ride. So I had two years of anticipation when I finally got to listen to that CD. It was worth it

You NEED to hear the entire album in one sitting... Dark side of the Moon will completely change you life, and it’s not a joke. By the time you listen to this...you will be so completely moved. The album starts with a heartbeat, which symbolizes your birth, and ends with a heartbeat...which is your death. The music in between moves you through all the events in ones life : loss, the passage of time , money, madness, war, death. It is by far the most PERFECT album ever made. For an album that is almost 50 years old, the production was very ahead of its time. The reaction was great, I enjoyed it. 😀

@animalgeo

And people insist that Comfortably Numb’s solo is the best Guilmour. The solo from Time expresses exctly the spirit of the song. He makes the guitar sound like a desperate person questioning life. His guitar scream, yells, weeps but is so transcedental at the same time. Comfortably Numb is just Guimour showing off . It’s not bad, but on Time he played with all his heart and soul

"one of the most important goals in life is to enjoy it." Yep - absolutely ! Happiness and Spiritual Growth (via personal experience and the acquisition of Knowldege) are the BIRTHRIGHT of ALL Human.beings. Harm No-One needlessly (THE Golden Rule) - and give happiness to others _wherever_ you can, according to your means (even if it's just a friendly smile to a stanger, or a brief helping hand). But OPPOSE all those who seek only to bring suffering and darkness into our world (they are few in number, but powerful). LUCEAT LUX VESTRA, Beautiful Lady !

One of the most important? How about THE most important. We are all just here for a short moment in the grand scheme of things. The odds against you as an individual existing here right now at this moment in time are astronomical. Looking at just one generation, imagine the odds that one particular sperm cell out of hundreds of thousands/millions fusing with one of thousands of your mother's ova. That represents you the individual. Now extrapolate that process back to the next generation and the odds against your mother and father being in existence at the times they were, then the next generation, then the next and so on and so forth for thousands of generations. Its almost an impossibility that you would be sitting where you are right now. Sorry to wax philosophical.....Pink Floyd tends to do that to me.

The song that everyone has a love/hate relationship with. It's literally an alarm-clock... The whole structure of the song is simply genius. That overly long intro, to make you either get impatient because it feels to long or float away and forget about time... That perfect guitar solo after "You missed the starting gun..." is just so painful and powerful. It's there to make the listener make a very personal reflection of how he/she is waisting his/her life. The lyrics are such a spot on feeling that everyone will have at some point of their life... I have cried to this song. I have used it at inspiration to get my life back on track. I have hated it. I have loved it. And the feelings are always a direct reflection of were I'm at that point in my life. A true masterpiece.

It hits like a wrecking ball every time. I hate and love it as well. Makes me cry like a baby each time. Time is just such a monstrous nemesis for me, the way it just slips through our fingers way too often. The ten years from when I was 20 to 30 was more or less lost and it still haunts me these days, trying to get everything back on track at near 35, I sometimes wish myself back to the school days where 2 minutes felt like 3 hours while waiting for the day to be over. Alarm-clock for sure, painful and powerful, as you said. Time for me to get back to working on music.

I can honestly say that the last 20 years felt like 5 years in my 20’s. So much happens from childhood, to building a career, to maybe getting married to kids and then boom. 20 years goes by and not as much changes and the years slip through your fingers. I look at my Dad who just turned 89 so the lesson for me is to seize each moment in time you have, let go of anxiety and bitterness and focus on more love and less of all the other things that rob our joy for life.

You grabbed the meaning of the song perfectly. That’s why it hits you so strong. I grew up on Pink Floyd and the absolute musical poetry will never be matched if music in general stays on its fervently commercial path. David Gilmore was an absolute master at creating the guitar sounds that would actually speak the path between lyrics and if you get the chance to escape the pure brilliance of his guitar mastery, the sounds he is pushing toward you absolutely resonates the emotional power of the lyrics and forces you to reflect on what message you just heard. They were completely amazing at this feat in all of their songs. Epic guitar solos. “Comfortably Numb” has one of the most iconic guitar solos of all time. Great reaction.

I'm so Grateful and elated to see younger people experiencing Pink Floyd. I am fortunate, being 61 I have seen them several times, first time in 1975 at the Capital Center (outside DC) for the Wish You Were Here Tour, then on May 7th, 1977 in LA at the Anaheim Stadium for the Animals Tour. I also saw them for the Wall Tour in 1981 at Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum. Again in 87 (Cap Center, Md.). Pink Floyd is a Journey, their songs blend to life experiences, and they loved using Audio Hallucinations in their sound. The visuals they produced live with light shows and props were lets say "Mind Expanding"! Thank You for a very honest reaction, and your opinion of this song, "Time", is spot on!!!! Its a journey told of life, starting at Birth (you said "Heart Beat) and ending with the end of life..... Be Well and Stay Healthy and Positive!!!! ~ And I'll be right here, "Warming my bones beside the fire!" PEACE!

Alot of people (especially younger than me😂) seem to focus on "when the singing starts", Floyd ofter have extended instrumentals, and I know modern stuff is 2 to 3 minutes, but this is a chance to stop, sit back, and listen to the sheer craftsmanship of playing real instruments, and just soak it in😉 Lyrics tends to be short but deep meaning behind the poetry.

This type of rock music is a different type of music than what you've reacted to so far. The instruments are every bit as important as the vocals, or even moreso. This is where the guitar solo rules. Fans love how songs build up and evolve and change from their start to their finish. It isn't dance music, it isn't pop music, and if you listen to it that way, you won't be able to really appreciate it. It's about sitting back and riding along on the wave of the music. Fans will often say the best way to listen to it is with headphones in the dark, so you can focus all your attention on the music. Lyrics tend to be deeper, often about social or philosophical issues, with fewer love songs. It's also true that the lyrics are almost always bleaker than in pop and dance music. There is also harder, more energetic rock music, but the focus on the instruments is always there. Hopefully you can come to appreciate it!

The song actually says ... just live it ... no sport shoes plugs here ... Anyway, I fist heard this when I was 14, now I'm 60 ... love this song because it's so true but it doesn't prevent me from going on :-) It just states the obvious. Have a long life!!!

Don't be ashamed of your tears. This is the best, most honest and truest text I have ever heard! I know this song for over 40 years but understand it today first (because of REAL listening to) - and I'm 62 now... YOU have all the time from now on... I by myself wasted a lot of...

Thank you for a very honest reaction to a very honest song. This is one of a very few songs that tells us that we will all (if we are lucky) age, become old and die. Sometimes lives are cut short by illness or accident and none of us know if or when that will happen. This is a depressing thought because we assume that our lives will go on, pretty much as we wish for a long time. But the clock is ticking. Don't be sad about this song and what it represents, don't regret what time you may have wasted. You are responsible for your own happiness and nothing else, but your time is finite so think deeply, act humanely and never waste a minute if you can help it. Life is hard but so are diamonds. I wish you well.

Absolutely great and honest reaction ! It's a song everyone needs to listen to, early in life, as a wake up if needed. Thank you for reacting to this. By the way the ending verses of Time flow into (in more ways than one) the next song "The Great Gig in the Sky".

So, down the Pink Floyd rabbit hole you go. Pink Floyd is one of a handful of bands that revolutionized and influenced the bands and music that followed them. They are still a driving force for music. Those listening to their music for the first time discover their music is as important as the lyrics. I do hope you continue to explore their extensive library. They are my favorite band, which makes it hard to suggest any single song, rather I suggest listening to whole albums so you get the story they are telling. Enjoy the ride, and hold on ✌️😎

This is one of my favorite songs from the dark side of the moon album. It's very poignant. People who do not understand this song do not value or are unaware of the time they have, those that do feel for this song have in someway missed out on something or regret that they missed an opportunity, or empathize with those that have lost that opportunity. A with that said, I have to say you have a caring ❤️, and are a beautiful person.
