I noticed some KZfaqrs are calling this new mixer budget friendly. I totally disagree $800 is nowhere near budget friendly under 300 would be a different story. Simply cannot afford this in these times but lovely mixer none the less

For me, it’s a Simple choice as to why I’m buying the S5 over the Numark scratch for my Dj needs: 1. It’s a little bigger than the Numark and I remember how uncomfortable smaller it was for me to dj on the Numark scratch 2. It has the track load buttons on the mixer and the Numark scratch doesn’t have that 3. It uses USB C without the need of an adapter which means less stuff to carry for me and it’s plug and play. 4. The Numark scratch as a horrible mic problem volume issue 5. And lastly and for my dj style most importantly, since I like DJing on livestreams, I can speak into the mic and it goes directly to my stream. These are reasons that I’m willing to pay $800 for this mixer instead of paying $1,400 for the DJM-S7. But every purchase is based on your dj needs, so the S5 fits my Dj needs perfectly.

Very good review, this helps me and my research. It looks like a decent mixer, but it doesn’t seem like it’s worth $800. Especially if it’s on the level of entry / beginner. I think more along the lines of $600. Also, does this mixer have split cue for the headphones? If it doesn’t have split cue it’s not even worth $600

Just so you know nothing wrong with RCA. RCA is meant to be at close proximity so you won’t get interfering frequencies. DJs see RCA and instantly associate it with low quality. XLR is made for long distance. So unless your booth monitor is far away from the booth it makes no sense for the booth to be XLR or quarter inch. Just wanted to debunk that myth. Cuz in that case your turntables would be XLR too with no ground cable.

Hi, i tested it a couple of days ago and ....uhhh in Germany it cost 900 Euros. I like it, but for the price i would go for another mixer. Used Rane or a Reloop Elite.

What is the purpose of powering via USB bus when you still need 120v to power the turntables/CDJs you'd be connecting? Seems like a feature without an upgrade? Would love to know.

Or better yet Keep any mixer you got like s7 s9 Numark scratch etc…And put the forgotten App on your cell or ipad and voilà lol it works for me till this day for any mixer

Correct me if I'm wrong but I'm sure the Numark scratch has an Innofader and onboard FX out the box? Also I'm not sure Dj Tech mixers are supported with newer versions of Serato??? But this new S5 is very cool USB C very cool.

It’s a nice mixer but mixars mk2 duo is a battle mixer and have more things you can do on it. Also it’s cheaper then this mixer
