Michael Jordan "didn't want to pass, didn't want to rebound, didn't want to defend the best player on the other team, he wanted everything done for him." Jordan made the All NBA Defensive Team 9 times (Pippen made it 8 times). Jordan averaged 30 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists, and 2 steals a game over his entire career. Pippen averaged 16, 6, and 5. Obviously Scottie wanted to sell some books.

This video (the one being reacted to)is effin ridiculous… the idea Luke Longly needed to be mentioned in a doc ABOUT MJ is wild. Dude was not that good. And to say he had the best supporting cast is debatable. Id say in ‘91 it was easily the lakers with Magic as 1 example. episode 2 was all about Scottie where Mj said “there’d be no Mj without Scottie”… they had a whole section on Rodman’s rebounding. Video had to be made by a Lebron Stan. The Last Dance rules. The reason Scottie is mad is MJ’s son is dating Pippens ex-wife. And MJ literally doesn’t approve of that relationship at all. Oh the idea Steve Kerr was the most accurate 3 point shooter of all time lacks all context. By shooting % he was… he also shot like a few 3’s a game and averaged less than 10 point i’m pretty sure? Lebron Stan’s can’t argue he’s better than MJ with facts so they have to make up BS like this.

This video was kind of stupid, really. The guy was taking digs at MJ and the doc. I saw the doc multiple times. They profile almost all the players that were worth mentioning, especially Kerr in an emotional episode. The guy is talking about the small things that most people wouldn't care about and the fact that MJ and Pip had two different teams both 3 peats. MJ has always given Pip credit. Pippen admitted he was selfish in the doc, but somehow didn't want that to be shown?? Stupid. It showed MJ's flaws as well and let's be honest, anybody who was around then, KNOWS it was MJ's Chicago Bulls and that doc showed that. There were layers mad cause MJ got to see the interviews and answer stuff, while they didn't get a chance to counter him or things they said. Regardless it was a huge success. Pippen is just broken right now. And anybody who calls MJ a bad person, is funny, cause Pippen doing all this talking, but MJ hasn't said anything.

I think you should watch the last dance and then do episode of Sports Edition or do series on each episode. YES, the last dance is worth watching. I think the first time Scottie was sort of turned off to Jordan, is when Scottie's signed long term 7-year extension deal with the Bulls at like 21 million (Against Jordan's advice) and like 2 years later the salaries exploded in the NBA. Pippen held out for more money, and you felt that he was waiting for Jordan to protest with him that he was underpaid. You felt at the time Pippen resented Jordan for not protesting for him......that's what I felt at the time. I might have some of the details wrong, like money and the length of the extension. I do believe Pippen was under paid at the time, based on what players were signing for just couple of years after his extension. yeah, Pippen just sounds like Bitter person. Yes, the last dance would be centered on Jordan as the Bulls were centered on Jordan. I think the worst it painted on Pippen was the Migraine game against Detroit.

I don't think they had much personal beef while they were playing. Pippen wasn't happy that Jordan was making over 10 times more, but that was an issue between Scottie, his agent, and team management. He didn't like being, in his mind, shortchanged nor did he expressly blame Jordan for taking what he could get.
@TES-541
@TES-541 11 ай бұрын
Kind of weird video because there was a lot right and a lot wrong, and a lot touched on but kind of underemphasized. some thoughts: Scottie often guarded the best player but MJ was also otherworldly. He didn’t take plays off and together they were a nightmare. MJ also admitted that when Jackson came in he guided him more to be a team player and integrate the others more, so it’s weird Scottie brings it up like an “a-ha!” Moment. The idea that Phil was racist for giving that shot to Kukoc is just garbage. it’s easily the biggest blight on Scottie’s career and he apologized for it. He got super emotional. kukoc was killing it that playoffs and also I think a part of the reason it went to him is because everyone thought it’d go to Scottie so it was a decoy. he brought up the contest stuff but it’s super important. Scottie was constantly underpaid and he sacrificed a ton financially for that team. And they never made up for it because the bulls were/are cheap as fuck. Also they bring up the flu game and not Scottie playing hurt in 98 because MJ did amazing that game whereas Scottie played like a hurt player in 98, so it’s a weird comparison. Everyone said Scottie was awesome playing through that pain, but MJ wouldn’t be celebrated for the flu game if he sucked.

Pippen was and has always been jealous of MJ and anyone who was around to watch the Bulls could see it. Pippen just did all that talking and drama to sell his book that’s all. When MJ went and played baseball the Bulls couldn’t win with Pippen leading the way and a bunch of times and videos you can find of Pippen campaigning MJ to return back to the Bulls. The most famous video is Pippen on the bench wearing Jordan’s shoes and he lifted his foot and pointed at the bottom of it that had MJ’s jump man logo on it and was saying come back and telling the camera to come closer to see exactly what he was doing. MJ also never shit on his teammates publicly especially Pippen he always gave and will always give props to Pippen and his teammates and Phil Jackson the coach and guys from Pippen 13:38 to Paxson, Kerr, Cartwright etc

Definitely watch the documentary if you like basketball. Jordan had one focus and it wasn't making friends or being a role model, he lived to win. You have to respect a guy that goes that hard for a goal. You can hate him for being a dick but I guarantee that everyone around Jordan would say that he gave 110% all the time. That BS from Scottie about Jordan not playing defense, etc is ridiculous. Jordan had great defensive stats and won Defensive Player of the Year. He was on the court to score points, that's what they paid him to do, that was the role he was asked to play. Then to call Phil Jackson a racist on top of everything else. I'm sure that's where he lost a lot of people. Just because Tony got a last second shot or two? How many did Jordan take while playing for Phil Jackson? Probably more than every white player in the league combined. LOL Scottie was a great player and it's sad to see him acting like this after he benefitted from their success.

The Bulls made the playoffs both seasons that Jordan was away pursuing a baseball career. In fact the Bulls' win-loss record for the first year (55-27) was almost as good as their record the previous year (57-25) when Jordan was with them. What this tells us is that the Bulls were a very good team even without Michael Jordan. Contrast that with the impact of LeBron James leaving the Cleveland Cavaliers after the 2009-10 season. For the 2009-10 season, with LeBron, the Cavaliers finished with a league leading 61-21 record. For the 2010-11 season, without LeBron, the Cavaliers finished with a league worst 19-63 record.

It’s important to mention that Jordan, while respected, was never liked within the league. Years later, his teammates don’t like him, people from his era don’t keep in contact etc. Whatever Scottie said was likely resentment that had been held back for years. In comparison, the players today love Lebron. Paul George had a podcast episode with Demar Derozan (both guys Lebron faced and eliminated in the playoffs on numerous occasions) and they spoke highly of him with smiles on their faces. During the pandemic, when the NBA wanted to decide whether they’d move forward with the bubble, each team waited for Lebron’s decision. Regardless of whoever played better, I’ll always support Lebron for being the better person. He has close friends in and out of the league, helped his childhood friends become millionaires, helped build a school for underprivileged kids and has spoken out regarding black issues in America.

MJ played when not all playoff series were 7 games. Lebron has played 400 more games than MJ bc of that. So ofc he has more total points for his career or whatever. Yes, Pippen is bitter, but the last dance is legit just MJ propaganda. MJ is still one of the most legendary athletes of all time, but when you actually learn about him dude was , in the lightest of terms, a psycho. He was a degenerate gambler, smoke cigars like they were cigarettes, he was a bully, he punched Steve Kerr, and if you want to put tinfoil hats on that flu game could’ve just been him hungover if you follow the stories, and if you really wanna dive into nba conspiracies he played baseball as an unnofficial suspension for his gambling because he legit was the face of the NBA at the time. Then there’s that wild one where he’s the reason his dad got shot because he owed money to the mob or something, which you would totally write off but like who would just shoot MJ’s dad and why did he write a huge ass check that was found in the briefcase of someone with criminal ties he owed money to that got gunned down. All I’m saying is he is the goat unless Bron gets two more rings, but he has benefited from continuous decades of pr positivity of who he is as a person.
