Fun fact: A desert is defined by the amount of precipitation (rain, snow, mist and fog) in an area, in the McMurdo Dry Valleys in East Antarctica, it never rains. In fact, scientists believe that in some parts of the Dry Valleys it hasn’t snowed or rained for 14 million years! So although the coast sees some precipitation, the average across the continent is low enough to classify all of Antarctica as a polar desert.

They had to look somewhere to get the accurate locations of those bases built on antarctica as they cant guess it themselves, and wherever they looked are logically the most accurate databases there instead of one collective
@MrHatoi2 жыл бұрын
@@collegepark301 They got the information from a ton of different sources, most of which they had to dig fairly deep to find. There is no single resource they used to get the locations of every single base in Antarctica; hence why this map is actually more complete than any of the *individual* sources they used to build it. All of the information exists elsewhere but it's spread across many different places; obviously the sum total of all available information on Antarctica has more information than a single map, that's not the point. The point is that, compared to other *individual* resources and databases this map seems to be significantly more comprehensive than anything else available right now.
@collegepark3012 жыл бұрын
@@MrHatoi What do you mean? Are you thinking like, the A source claims that antarctica has 1 research teams only active and the B source says 2 and they put it together and made 3 etc. thats not what they're doing,they only put the already mapped antarctica on their map and put in some settlements and put the governmental industries and whatnot from google map etc. there are already other minecraft maps that has antarctica

When this whole "Earth Minecraft Edition" is complete, it would be soooooooo cool to have this as a Minecraft server for roleplay. You also need to have all the popular Minecraft KZfaqrs in here!

Fun Fact: Chile is the only country in the world that was sovereignty in the Antartica Territory, but respect the free use of the terrain for others countrie's scientific researchs, such as the Argentinian and Britain Base, to name a few.

Someone’s gotta do an survival series of waking across the Antarctic and running into human structures. Maybe they can add the Tough as Nails mod for realism and throw in a camping mod for flavour. Hell, do an SMP Antarctic with each person doing a real life country’s claim of Antarctica
