Subscribe for more Pitch Meetings: goo.gl/ho3Hg6
Pirates of the Caribbean was a massive surprise hit in the early 2000’s, so naturally Hollywood quickly jumped on making some sequels. That led to the second movie Dead Man’s Chest, which just kind of ended without resolving anything to ensure that people would want to come see the third movie - At World’s End.
Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End definitely raises some questions though. Like why is death so impermanent for the main characters? How did Jack and Barbossa become pirate lords? Is that dog magical? Why are we spending so much time talking about pirate politics and magical mythology? Why doesn’t Will Turner step in a bucket of water to visit Elizabeth as Davy Jones did? Why did Calypso turn into a giant and then into crabs? Why are there so many sequels going on?
To answer all these questions and more, step inside the Pitch Meeting that led to Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End! It’ll be super easy, barely an inconvenience.

@@asianpersuasion4901 they're basically freelancers. If you're doing your job for your king, you're a privateer; if you're doing your job for other kings or doing it for your own gain, you're a pirate. Queen Elizabeth supposedly held a sham trial for one of her pirate lord (as in, a noble Lady that goes pirating with her staff in her free time, not "Pirate Lords" like in the movie) because she caused diplomatic incident when her crew seized German ship belonging to one of Queen's friend. The popular image of pirates only hold true for small crew that concentrated most of the "free world" (i.e caribbean, south china sea, and african coast).

There are two things I would like to defend about the movie: the kraken being killed off-screen worked really well with Beckett's attitude and goals and that made it work, and about not coming back to land it was also explained that the captain of the Dutchman had the job of carrying the souls of the dead and Davy Jones was neglecting his duty, but it makes sense that Will won't do that.
