Crew members from the Pearl find Elizabeth (who hides her true identity as the governor's daughter by using Turner as a last name) in possession of the medallion, and take her back to their ship. She invokes the rule of parley ("parlai" in Middle English, "parley" in modern American English-a negotiation or discussion between two parties, particularly in military situations, during which no harm can befall the adversary) in order to be taken to the captain of the Black Pearl, Hector Barbossa, to ask that he cease his attack on Port Royal in exchange for the medallion. Barbossa agrees but, employing a loophole in their agreements, abducts Elizabeth

About the undead pirates being able to walk underwater and find the medallion: Ordinary humans can walk on land just fine. Yet threatening to throw a tiny, desperately needed object off a cliff of unknown height in the darkness would still be a threat with some weight, even if you can climb down and search at the bottom of the cliff later. (The pirates' situation is even worse than the cliff. There's shifting, possibly deep ooze at the bottom, currents that could wash the medallion a very long distance, and so on. But even the cliff on land would be a significant threat.) (They're not really interested in the town other than the gold, and maybe a bit of fun. They're giving up almost nothing by leaving, while basically getting the thing they want most. Cost/benefit analysis indicates there's really no reason not to agree to Elizabeth's terms; they're going to leave and go restore themselves to life anyway, as soon as they have the medallion.) (So they're kind of agreeing to do what they already intended to do, and in the process are sparing themselves days, weeks, or maybe months or years of poking around on the seafloor.)

Nor could anyone else but Kevin McNally play Joshamee Gibbs same as how no one but Lee Arenberg & Mackenzie Crook can play Abner Pintel & Terry Ragetti. Or Martin Klebba with Marty or David Baillie with Mr. Cotton. even tho he never spoke a word I feel like his present and aesthetic was missed in the last two films.

@@samu_cfhflames4469 Yeah Barbossa and the crew felt Jack wasn't a proper pirate. Which makes sense, since Jack never wanted to be a pirate. He wanted to be a honest sailor unlike his father Teague, but he was branded a pirate by Beckett anyway, so had no choicce but to embrace the role.

Could you imagine if they made a prequel to the original, Pirates of the Caribbean? The first 2 acts would follow Jack being the captain of the black pearl with Barbossa as his first mate. Than over time you see Barbossa start to plot how he's gonna take the ship from Jack and leave him stranded on the island. Then the whole third act is Barbossa and the crew finding the Aztec gold and slowly realizing what they've become

To be fair things didn't end too well for them lol. It'd be hard to bring them back, they can't all have escaped like Pintel and Ragetti. For comparison, when Black Bart's ship was caught, the crew got pretty scattered -- lots of them were hanged, the African members of the crew were sold back into slavery, some were shipped off to prison in England, some were allowed to sign contracts into indentured servitude.. It would be kind of fun to show a flashback to when these guys were all sailing around with Jack as captain though. In the third movie, we get a bit of a sense of what the dynamic between Jack and Barbossa might have been like when they were working together
