22 күн бұрынBeing able to consistently rack the slide on your handgun is essential. Using a full grip is the best way to ensure it works every time no matter what the situation is. Try to avoid the slingshot method because it’s not the most consistent way.

I would think racking the pistol using the sight would cause some accuracy issues with said sight. Right?

if you racking the slide would cause accuracy issues then you shouldn't be firing with it | firearm recoil much more violent than your hand :)

Not with a red dot sight or a cco, if it was a glass or crystal scope that is adjusted with threaded rods on the inside of a scope. I red dot or cco optic is adjusted though an adjustment plate or board, which are digital as opposed to analog.

Yeah, these red dots are made to take abuse. Racking the slide with your hand is not as rough as the numerous cycles of recoil that it goes through.

Same reason. You’re still having to pinch it between two fingers instead of using four fingers and the heel of your hand.
