I remember my first time working on a fryer and that flame happened right in my face 😂

Remove the burner tube and the screens at the bottom of the burner, you will find most of the build-up on the inside of the 2nd screen, clean with a wire brush. Do this for all 4 burners of the problem side. For me that’s solution for ‘blowback’ 95% of the time.

BINGO!!! Yeah we pull the burners annually on my locations and the problems went away. This was a different owner sent to me. Great advice Christopher!!

Burner backfire and a giant one lol. New burner time most likely, although I’ve only ever worked in hennypenny and fry master.

Delayed ignition is the culprit here from what I see is that the igniter is the problem not homing out right or on its way out or the pilot is out of adjustment

Check gas pressure at gas valve and the exhaust on the rear of the unit could be clogged. Could always reduce pressure coming out of gas valve to stop this issue

Wrong! Have you ever worked with commercial kitchen equipment before? Guys like you are why my customers love me.
@restaurantrepairs3 ай бұрын
@Alundrahs I mean technically reducing the gas pressure “would” stop the issue. It would also stop the efficient cooking process but 🤷🏻♂️

These kinda do that check the rollout function

I don't know shit about this type of equipment, but have seen a boiler backfire like that. Is the unit sooted up?
@davejohnsonnola1536 Жыл бұрын
Much of the gas fired kitchen equipment is similar to furnaces and boilers, but much greasier! RTFM for order of operation and the rest is the same electrical and gas pressure troubleshooting.

Plugged vent in the back.
@restaurantrepairs Жыл бұрын
Nah. That would cause exhaust issues after combustion. It’s delayed combustion here. Can be plugged burner tube outlet screens. The gas can back up to meet the pilot in greater volume than just passing thru.

That's true, don't get to work on to many fryers, mainly refrigeration. Great video. I look forward to more.

Burners are clogged with soot. They are located in the back take them out and clean them

What is the issue this one. I scare one time
@Matt-ll1pd Жыл бұрын
What was the cause of that?
@restaurantrepairs Жыл бұрын
An owner sent me that.. I haven’t touched it, but it’s caused by delayed ignition of the main gas valve. That’s not helpful tho The pilot lights and recognizes there’s flame. So it opens the main gas valves. That gas is supposed to go thru the manifold orifices into the burner tubes down to the pilot and light. What’s happening is there is a blockage or alternative path for the gas to take before it reaches the flame and with a concentrated building of natural gas you get the boom. Normally blocked burners and buildup, although I’ll say kudos to this owner cus the inside of that fryer looks beautiful clean.

Agreed that thing is clean! And the stickers are warm off the inside of the door so you know it’s got some age to it. I’d eat there.
