My wife bought me the X0 transmission SL for my birthday. Its the latest version directly from Pivot in Arizona. 500 miles without missing a beat and loving it.

I have an early release X01 Pro model of this bike. Love it, even though I had a torque sensor issue in the motor. It would intermittently add more noise and some drag while climbing. The assist was stronger than the drag, but definitely noticeable. The noisier motor was also obvious when it would happen. Anyway, Fazua support was awesome! They replaced the motor with the latest version. The dealer experienced the same issue with my bike but couldn’t get it to show a problem in Fazua’s software (probably because it was intermittent). But based on the dealer describing the symptoms, Fazua replaced the motor anyway. I suspect it must be a known issue on at least some of the early releases.

I have the same model as in video. I cannot imagine a better ride analogue, bigger motor, smaller motor. It just feels the perfect ride to me.

Sold my full power Levo Gen 3 and don’t miss that paperweight one bit. Got mine in December and have around 200 miles on it. Best bike for my needs. Any questions let me know.

Hey Francis. Another great review. Considering all the Wh variations in the different sized batteries on the tested bikes, showing only the Percent (%) of Battery Used doesn't yield much information for me. Wouldn't it make more sense to show the Wh Used by multiplying the Battery Capacity by the Percentage Used. We'll just trust you about the 197-202 Watts Average Power range...LOL Regardless, you are still my hero for doing all these reviews and tests.

I got the black lime in Nov from Mikes while it was on sale. I was surprised it was on sale..so I had to grab it. this bike is great. haven't had a single issue yet.....going on 300miles. 210mm dropper slammed is great for jumping this bike. 160mm fork slackens it a bit and makes it even better.
@EMTBReview5 ай бұрын
Yeah, I saw those crazy sales and I thought that was gonna be the trend. Now the Shuttle SL sales are gone!! I was jus thinking of a 160mm fork!!!! And there's definitely room for a lot of dropper. That 29er wheel will get in the way though and will be the limit. Nice play bike for sure.

Francis, great review as always! That chart you have for climb time and % battery is SUPER useful - do you have a link to where you maintain it? It's sometime difficult to remember which video and when in the video I saw it, when I want to refer back to it. Thanks for doing these reviews!

your comments are spot on, amazing sl type bike with an insane entry point... how was pivot was ok with this ring controller, i will never know ...maybe if i never owned a levo... i wish the shuttle had bit more travel in the rear for certain features but for most stuff i ride it is great... I'm side eyeing a Giant Trance X Adv E+ ... when is the camparison coming???
@EMTBReview5 ай бұрын
Great comments for sure. As far as the Giant is concerned, we’ve made numerous requests for a test bike, but they won’t send us a bike. I’m starting to get suspicious about their spec claims.

Great video. Looking forward to the mid-power shootout! I’ve been stuck trying to decide between Levo SL and Heckler SL…

I second that. Looks like Levo SL and Heckler SL are the current leaders for light Enduro E-bike *that have a powerful motor*

Really appreciate your reviews. Met a guy while riding who had this bike a year or so back and sold it due to reliability issues. Wonder if the same guy you mentioned. Which trail is the single track shown in the video? I live in MV and would like to ride there (if I haven't already).

Right on my good man. The person you were talking about is most likely, my friend and we have shared a lot of information about the pivot shuttle. SL. As far as writing location, contact me separately on the email and my KZfaq profile since these trails are pretty remote. I live in Saratoga.

The stiff/"supportive" 13x mm rear travel definitely makes this faster than something like the Relay with 160 (29er), but i think the biggest culprit are the tires: one comes with Dissectors and/or Rekons, the other with Magic Mary/Assegais and whatnot...combined? not a chance 😂 Tires are the biggest hold back. Even a hardtail with maxxgrip "anything" front & rear will be less fun and ofc slower uphill vs a FS all mountain bike with light trail tires.
@EMTBReview5 ай бұрын
Tires were Dissector and DHFs. A key factor for the speed too we’re a newer Fazua motor and revamped firmware

I’ll stick with my EXe 9.7. I broke 5 ribs riding it on News Years day. But, I’m still sticking by my EXe. I just think it’s an all around better bike.

I like your videos. They are very helpful. I live not far from you, San Ramon. The trails in the S. Bay look nice. I'm going to have to get down there some time. Here we have Diablo and various regional parks like Las Trampas, Kilkare Woods, and Rose Peak to the south which is as tall as Diablo.

The Orbea isn't a full powered bike. The EP8 is limited to 60 NM on the RIse. Not sure why you stated that, after saying it's limited a few seconds before that. This was in the comparison section on the timed climbs. It smokes the Pivot's 60 NM Fazua.

For riding bike parks that require you to pedal up would you go with shuttle sl or heckler sl
@EMTBReview5 ай бұрын
Definitely the Heckler SL. It is much more capable when it comes to rowdy descents

How tall are you buddy? At a guess I’d say you would be similar to me at 5’8, should you not have tried the Small? Small, Medium, Large labels differ massively between brands - at 5’8, I’d be going small on most Canyon, Pivot or Mondraker bikes for sure (according to their own website suggestions) as the wheelbase, seat tube length and reaches are similar to Large in Spesh, Santa Cruz etc.
@EMTBReview5 ай бұрын
I'm 5'7". I always ride a Medium since I prefer long bikes and a stubby stem. But with this bike, I'd want to try a Small now with it's 440 reach. I live with the 469 reach of the large but I'm curious what a shorter wheelbase bike would feel like in terms of quickness and agility.
@Mockle075 ай бұрын
@@EMTBReview I like slightly more agile, flickable bikes so lean towards sizing down personally, but with the brands I mentioned in particular a Medium would often just straight up be too big - I can’t imagine ever wanting a Large Levo for example, but that’s actually smaller in some respects than a Medium Mondraker/Pivot/Canyon equivalent 🤯😂 Love your channel by the way, you go into so much detail about each bike and offer a perspective very few others do 👍🏻
@Mockle075 ай бұрын
@@EMTBReview Just a thought, you mentioned wanting to try a Shuttle SL in size small; a same model small vs medium would be a great video. There are loads of people who will be caught between sizes for sure. I know we all know the general differences - longer = stability, shorter = more nimble, but to what extent? Any other surprising differences etc?

@mustclime53115 ай бұрын
@@peakz1099 Why do people buy Rollex watches? Status........that's the same reason dentist buy Yeti's. Yeti has a good race team and Dentist want to be cool( because their job is about as uncool as you can get). So they pay way to much for a fifties bathroom tile color bike that is to be honest a really poor design. I mean the Yeti frame design was put together when Specialized was dragging anyone into court that copied the FRS design they bought from Horst. Now that the FRS patten has expired, there is no reason to keep producing that stupid shifty pivot design. It sucks under braking and is anything but plush....

@@mustclime5311 by the way you are talking about yeti i can hear u havent tried one 🤣 as I said the infinity link for the analog and the sixfinity for the ebike is by far the best suspension system 🤣 but yeti is not like rolex what the fuck are u even talking about. Think I gave like 13.000 dollars for my yeti and u can get alot of other brands for that same price. Like pivot, specialized. Ibis. Trek. Scott and so on. But the yeti by far the best feeling when u wanna go fast down the hills.
