It is quite amazing how many runs you do at these speeds and acceletation with no related maintenance. Love the GT-R and the Firebird, cool cars and seem like great guys with great skills driving and wrenching.

Yep, highly modded GTRs move! Only time I’ve been blown away in my Plaid out there at BMP was against a lime green GTR that was running under 8.5!

Tune and intake hellcat is no where near 800whp. 680ISH is more realistic. Great video as always !

Andrew can you try and roll forward while in chettah stance? I seen some Tesla’s do it , works pretty well , try it!

I’ve done it a few times. The amount that it moves forward is very unpredictable, which makes shallow staging unreliable. I’d rather agree beforehand with the other driver to go in first. That way I’m in control of where the car is between the beams, which is critical for a good reaction time with no red light.

It was really obvious when the nose of the GTR dropped that something happened. Glad it wasn't catastrophic. And yep, gotta stop to get a better look at any Grand National. It's the law! :)

Plaid-mergency! Taking mine to the drags tonight. About what tire pressure on the 19s? Currently at 51psi for the daily commute. Assume a bit less for a better footprint. Much Much appreciated. Also, this channel is the reason I got the S with the Plaid badges. Makes for a Very fun car. Thanks!

If the track prep is in question, I’ve run as low as 38psi. When prep is perfect, I can run 45psi (like last night) and run 9.20s…

A Hellcat with just a tune and intake would put it at right around 700 RWHP. My Hellcat had a tune, 180 therm and a 2.85 pulley and it was 785 to the wheels.

Do you remember what it trapped at? (Trap speeds only vary by 1-2MPH in roll racing, unless the car is severely traction limited)

"Drag racing is getting more popular", absolutely and IMHO you can't deny that Tesla has been a big part of its resurgence. Go back to 2010 and it seemed to be a dying sport. You just know that many, if not most, of those guys out there driving ICE vehicles are gunning for the Tesla. Another great video Andrew.........

Uncertain... Haven't seen the "real" specs yet. (It was announced five years ago, and considering that it still doesn't even have a production line yet, a whole lot is certainly going to change.)

Great show. The Plaid seems to be effortless. Its looks so easy it makes me wonder if fsd could allow you to do this with your phone unmanned. Lol. I know your not a fan of fsd. Curious to why..lack of confidence in AI?? Or the 12 k. Or Tslas marketing strategies? I think It has and will save lives. Itd be great to see a pedal and a steering imput cams not only on your Plaid but also on willing competition. These ice monsters you race are a major handfull. To be able to show your plaids extreme effortless run in comparison would be really entertaining. BtW. They make drone cams that automaticly follow you around. A chase cam on your show would take it to the next level

1) Regular phantom braking. It happens all over town at random in all of our Teslas (six so far). Sucks. 2) Pot holes 🕳. No, I don’t want to drive into the huge obvious pothole and would never do it myself. So why does FSD? 🤔 3) Bad weather and dirty camera lenses 4) Construction, road debris, anything out of the ordinary 5) The last 1% of situations…four years and counting. Remember back in 2018 when “real actual” FSD was just weeks away? Still is! …and the list goes on and on. Any ONE of these is enough of a problem…

How much faster do most cars trap to 1360 feet instead of 1320 feet? How many extra MPH are you expecting for a few dozen extra feet? (The extra distance is only however-many-feet it takes a given car to accelerate to ~35MPH, which is a VERY short distance for the Plaid.)

How about a 4 engine,, 4 wheel drive, over 1000HP new electric Dodge for 2024! kzfaq.info/get/bejne/pM-opMx0qJm8n4U.html How about the NHRA making an electric class much like the class they have for COPO Camaros, CobraJets and DragPack Dodges. All EV's with over 1000HP and 4 wheel drive, capable of 6 second at over 180MPH quarter mile times! Now wouldn't that just be the shits, when you add a NON COMPUTER LIMITED Plaid in that mix, and a 1100HP Lucid Air! Does anyone else remember the Horsepower wars in the early 60's.... Win on Sunday, SELL on Monday!

EV manufacturers are holding back on releasing such fast cars to the public. They have proven sub 7 second quarter mile cars but it would be insane to release for public safety. 200 mph on public street? No thank you!

@@rjsingh2921 Now, wouldn't you think a company like Tesla would SPONSOR a FACTORY racing team, for the sheer PUBLICITY one of their cars could actually run at those speeds. I was around in the 60's when the BIG 3 had sponsored guys to run their products as fast as possible. Guys like Sox & Martin, Jenkins, etc. All had special cars and raced each other weekends and at big NHRA meets. A Plaid with big brakes, roll bar, chute, light weight body and windows, and the ability to run sub 7 second quartets would certainly draw much publicity. Ford's E-Cobra Jet has run 8 teens in the quarter! Selling these type of cars to selected buyers, Such as Andrew and Drag Times would only cement the inevitability that electric cars ARE OUR FUTURE.

@@royrauch9775 slowly but surely it’ll happen. Manufacturers have finally started to address Teslas dominance in the EV space. I think EV race teams are inevitable. Porsche, Mercedes and BMW all have great EV products now. It’s just going to get better and better.

Double dipping! I was surprised by the GT-R because it was so VERY fast usually. But that's how it goes with serious race cars (hit and miss). Barry's Firebird was a surprise as well (the first time) and that made for a very close race, with the R/T making the win. Of course the 2nd race shows how a well prepped, serious racer does when everything goes right. Still, you had really good numbers for the Tesla, with a 1.46 60' and 6.02@121MPH! You still should run a few of the expensive European high performance cars (from time to time) just to remind us what the Plaid can do against $$$ street cars, that aren't being trailered to the drag strip. That was a fun joke with the Tesla having 4 liters of V8 up front! 🤠🥸🥳

Tesla Plaid has a low battery, when her battery is low, she loses power, if she has a charge of 100%, she would go faster
