PALACE ENTRANCE TIMINGS: EVERYDAY FROM 10.00 AM TO 5.30 PM.
Entrance to Palace for Tourists from three Gates :: Varaha and Amba Vilas Gate at South and Jayarama Balarama Gate at North.
Tickets issued for Palace Entrance between 10.00AM - 5.30 PM.
Tickets for (Indian / Foreign) Adults Rs 100 / head, Children above 10 years and below 18 years Rs 50 / head.
ILLUMINATION TIMINGS - SUNDAYS & PUBLIC HOLIDAYS : 7.00 PM - 8.00 PM
The Palace has four entrance, Main entrance is called “Jaya Maarthaanda” to east, “Jayarama” to North,”Balarama” to South, “Varaha” to west. Public Entry is from Varaha Gate.
SOUND AND LIGHT SHOW (SON ET LUMIERE) AT THE PALACE - ALL DAYS EXPECT SUNDAYS & GOVT. HOLIDAYS.
A 45 minute sound and light show, depicting the 400 year history of Mysuru.
Kannada :: Monday to Wednesday - Time 7.00 PM to 8.00 PM & Saturday - Time 8.15 PM to 9.15 PM - Entrance Ticket in Rs. Adults 100 & Children Rs 40 / Ticket.
English :: Thursday to Saturday - Time 7.00 PM to 8.00 PM - Entrance Ticket in Rs. Adults 120 & Children Rs 50 / Ticket.
No refund of tickets if the show is stopped in-between due to rain or any other reasons.
15 Minutes Palace Illumination can be seen at the end of the Sound and Light Program Show.
Ticket will be issued only at Varaha Gate Counter (South Side) from 6.30pm onwards
Tickets for (Indian / Foreign) Adults Rs 100 / head, Children above 10 years and below 18 years Rs 50 / head.

Thank you Amrita for sharing this vlog with all the important details of Mysore. As mentioned by you, I had contacted Noor Ahmed for 1 day trip. The day I had a word with him about this trip and the places I want to visit, he was very proactive and suggested some more places which can be visited. I had also contacted some of the other guys but they were very reluctant to cover entire place in 1 day whereas Noor was very confident and planned the trip as per our convenience. On the day of the trip, he arranged his brother Shakeel who managed to ensure that all the places will be covered without hurrying to any place. He was available bang on time and helped us to have a wonderful trip. Once again Thank you and Ahmed brothers for having us a wonderful and memorable trip 😊

We have used services of Noor Ahmed to travel to Ooty and Coonoor. He sent a driver named Syed Mukhtar, he was throwing tantrums all the day. We started from Mysuru from 5:00 AM in the morning for Ooty and Coonoor.. he was reluctant to take us to our hotel in Ooty until 7:00 PM in the night, despite multiple asks. I travelled with my husband and kid..our phones were running out of battery and cameras. No point busing the place without taking any photographs. He was insisting to use restaurant washrooms and us his charger in car. I told multiple times that iPhone charging pin is different.. he wouldn’t care.. he was rude and arrogant that he was calling in front of us to Noor Ahmed and talking ill about us.. we missed Bandipur trip because of him.. he kept saying that for sure it will be open until 9:30 to 10:00, as it is Sunday. Once reaching there, he said, timings are changed.. and that he is not aware of him.. but, in turn started blaming us.. very very pathetic experience. After reaching Ooty, he would complain that sightseeing places are few kilometers far.. no point going it seems.. Your reviews in all the places in Mysore really helped us. We thoroughly enjoyed our time in Mysore (we wouldn’t have used Noor’s services, obviously you wouldn’t know how they provide service na).. but, your vlogs really helped us to plan our stay in Mysore

I being a Mysorian, Just a small correction... Mysore palace will not be illuminated everyday. It will be illuminated every Saturday and Sunday, General holidays and during 10 days dasara. Very nicely explained 👏 👌

Thank you so much for ur comment... Actually palace wl lit on sundy, holidays and dussehra festival but everyday from 7pm to 7:45 pm thr wl be light and sound show organised and only for 15 min from 7:45 to 8pm they lit the palace.

Thank you. I chanced upon this Video and took your recommendation and opted for 'Advaitha Residence'.It was close to Rly station and reasonable as well! I didn't even enquire about other hotels before going...but yes it was good and for food we went to "Mahesh Prasad" for all three times a day and it was a delight!! Thanks again for your recommendations!

Thank you for the video. We were able to cover almost all places in Mysore with help of this video. But when we availed services of Noor Ahmed for Mysuru to Ooty and Coonoor, they were pathetic. They sent a driver who had vision problem.. after reaching Ooty, u ask him to take site seeing places, he would say, it’s 3kms away or 12 kms.. he didn’t even let us check in our hotel room until 7:30 in night.. we boarded their taxi and early in the morning at 5:00. Until night, we neither had our phones and cameras charging left.. couldn’t use washrooms.. very argumentative and rude. He would make phone calls and abuse us right in front of us in kannada (probably he didn’t knew that we followed Kannada language).. we missed our toy train and Bandipur visit as well because of this nasty driver named Syed Mukhtar..he would just ask us to take photos of signboards of tourist places and show the direction where they were.. but didn’t take us there.. PATHETIC SERVICE.. FRADULENT PEOPLE

Your description is clear however there is a factual error 😀 I have been living here for the last twenty years and the ideal time to visit Mysuru is when the whole of India is reeling under the summer heat! May June July August is gorgeous with cloudy skies. Pre monsoon rains occasionally but not for long. Drains out real fast. Post October upto March, the sun is very strong in the day though the morns and evenings are cool. Moreover Mysuru also has an airport with connections to a couple of destinations.
