Plane Spotting at Canada's LARGEST AIR FORCE Base!! CFB Trenton (YTR/ CYTR)

Күн бұрынWelcome to CFB Trenton which is Canada's largest Air Force base! CFB Trenton is home to the majority of the RCAF transportation fleet. Here they do cargo transportation using their CC-130's (H and J models) as well as the CC-17. They are also home to VIP transportation aircraft like the CC-150 and they work with Ottawa for the CC-144's. Today there were mainly local flights as the C130's, CH146's, C17 and CC150's were out flying! And of course I had to visit the Air Force museum that is home to famous aircraft like Pratt and Whitney's old 720! I hope you ENJOY the video!

Local common knowledge: You can easily spot a tourist in Trenton. They always look up when a plane flies over. Me, an area resident for 50 years: still looks up every damned time.

Growing up as I kid I remember the airshows at Trenton. Every two years. Tomcats, Harriers, Phantoms from Germany and US. Tornados from Germany and UK. C-141'S, C-5's, Hercs. The airshows were booming in the 80's and early 90's.

I used to live in PMQ at CFB Trenton in the 70's. I still live in Trenton and see this every day and I still love it.

Another cracking video from CFB Trenton, the museum looks awesome. Got a chance to film the CP140 Aurora this year at Prestwick when they took part in a NATO exercise, they are classic aircraft. A big like :-)

Must be a training day for 426 Sqn. I was post in Trent from 81 to 82 for my Cantanct training and I came back in 85 when CFB Chatham, NB stopped flying. Was there until 1989, did a Boxtop in 86 and went to Turkey in 88. Place looks completely different now. The Air Museun was a look smaller and down by thee Bay of Quinte.

YES! Me and my grandpa come here pretty much every weekend and we park alongside Whites road to watch the planes landing. It’s awesome.

Did you go during the week? I went a few times, both in weekends, and only saw a single C130 depart. On a side note, I gotta go check out that museum again. They added a few things. Here's hoping they work on that Aurora so it doesn't look so... Decommissioned lol

On the week-end it is usually quiet. Best time to go is between Tuesday and Friday

When did the CC-150 go to retro livery? When I was there last year a couple were low-viz grey and the other was all new-colour garbage. As an airforce brat I am always in favour of the 60's/70's theme on new equipment!

not retro actually It was Harper's personal wish and so its in the Conservative colours . A retro 60's look would be much better

@@alpearson9158 The second airbus seen in the video is 03, which is not the one painted in the RCAF colors like 01. It is in fact in a retro look, like the 707s had.

Nope. CFB Trenton is not a fighter military base but a transportation one (Cargo and passenger)

@@rowennoonan6013 I was told that they do have a couple of F-18’s there, but they’re hidden inside special hangars and are out of the view of the public. I myself have never seen them, but there are a few videos of people sighting them.
