Some other planets that would be good to cover: * Armageddon: while it was mentioned, it's one of the most important hive-forge worlds in the Imperium. Not only is the population huge, it's one of the primary manufacturers of Chimeras in the entire Imperium. It also produces Land Raiders and Titans. There's a reason it's been invaded 3 times. * Catachan: the death world with man-eating plants, tropical diseases that make yellow herpa-siphi-typh-AIDS fever look preferable, and its defenders are nothing more than guardsmen wearing boots, bayonets, bombs, and lasguns. * Tanith: the history of Tanith is one of the most interesting guard stories. The Tanith First-and-Only, also known as Gaunt's Ghosts, are the sole survivors of the planet. * Nocturne: home of the Salamanders chapter of the Space Marines. High gravity, tons of volcanoes, giant lizards, and it's basically 1231 AD?

Spoiler Alert The reason the Orks attacked Armageddon twice with the two biggest waaaghs in the galaxy is because it's one of the most important planets to them. It's where the emperor fought the biggest of most cunning warboss in existence. Emps would have been killed too if it wasn't for Horus saving him.

I am trained as a historian and I must say, this lore project of yours is fantastic! There is enough lore content in the W40K universe I could develop an entire college course and still not be able to cover it all. The Horus Hersey would be a great course to take and teach. Well done!

i just wanted to say i'm typing this comment having paused this vid at 38 seconds because that's the point that it's atmosphere and quality pulled me in. i like all the content on this channel with the exception of Arma which i've never got into but you really need to make more of these 40k vids. they're like watching david attenbrough on the bbc. i have now just read other comments and see that i'm not the only one who thinks like this.

Of all the wh40k lore narrators.. your channel is probably my favorite to listen to.. besides that fact that you explain the lore, calmy, and succinctly.. you capture the grim darkness of wh40k better than everyone else.. the intros and soundtrack coupled by your voice really sets the scene of what you explain.. keep it up..

only recently found your channel. i used to have a few chaos space marine models back when i was 12, but never got into the lore. 18 years later and i'm more enthralled in the universe than i ever thought i would be. thanks mainly to your 40k videos jump starting my enthusiasm. great job dude. also any 40k fans out there feel like recommending a good starting point for delving into the audiobooks, i'm all ears

This is good stuff... I've watched 6 of your vids so far (tyranids, space marine creation, bolters, and creation of the imperium series 1 & 2) this one, and really enjoy it. I've been reading Black Library fiction for years and years, and playing the Space Hulk board game in various versions for 20+ years also. Thanks for taking the time to do this, I think even my two boys would be able to sit still and listen to some of these with rapt attention, they are so well done with cool images mixed in with apropos music as well. Thanks!

There is so much potential for a rpg set in WH40K. Imagine growing up in a hive city then entering into a role that means you explore all the horrors and wonders of that city. then somehow getting off planet and seeing xenos for the first time. it would give the fans a way of seeing the empire as a citizen would. just let your imagination do the rest of the work of where this could go.

As a player of dark heresy and rogue trader, I find it hard sometimes to get to actual roleplay. While epic in scale, the 40k universe has an undertone of irony. This, combined with the fact that players often read a lot about the universe, whilst its inhabitants worship ignorance, often leads to the rpg just ending hillarious.

40k currently has 5 paper and pen rpgs: Dark Heresy - for inquisitors Rogue Trader - for Rogue Traders and pirate fans Black Crusade - for chaos and heretics fans Deathwatch - for Space Marines fans Only War - for Imperial Guard fans All done by games workshop, Hope that helps :)

Forgeworlds totally have mindbogglingly huge populations of ordinary humans, they are essentially a hive world that has been even further industrialized. I mean where do you think all those tech-priests, enginseers and skiitari come from? They don't just pop out of the ground.

It would be really cool if you could add some references for this stuff. There are so many novels its hard to keep up with everything and it would be good to see what we can read to get all caught up with the lore for a particular video you post. So like, a list of novels / short stories (where applicable) in the description in which you got the information would be awesome. Keep up the good work!
