In my 30s and on my 3rd tendon tear. Done 4 PT rounds. 1 was even unconventional therapy like cryotherapy and laser. I have the best gym shoes and orthoics all checked off by PT and orthopedic doctors. The tearing was from too many cortisone shots because i was literally crawling. No one told me the shots can lead to full tendon reptures and 80% of my fascia tore. Back at PT for the opposite foot that has a tear. But i havent had any shots for over a year and will never again. Not sure how the left foot went as i cant run, havent been able to exercise because as i suffer with a neuro disease i was about to go back to the gym after a year for total weight training but my left foot out of nowhere has a tear. I feel like i literally live at physical therapy and i do all the exercises at home. I do not know how it will ever get fixed. Randomly came on in 2023. Only my heels hurt from small bone spurs. I would be suspect that it’s stemming from your ankle. Is that ankle stiffer than the other, i.e., less range of motion than before the injury? What if you have scar tissue in you’re foot from a car accident? I’ve been to two podiatrists and my foot is always hurting!
@Reachrehabchiro11 ай бұрын
It depends. Scar tissue is not always painful. Sometimes it has to do with how your mechanics are affected as a result of the injury that caused scar tissue formation. Unfortunately, it’s specific to the person so I can give you a straight answer. Also, most podiatrists look at only the feet. See a movement specialist. We’re chiropractors and we treat foot issues where podiatry did not work.

Things I noticed about this kind of foot pain: I started a job where I sit most of the day and my fascitis got worse. I'm really bad at taking breaks, so that's my bad. I stopped stretching daily and that made it waaay worse, plus I started feeling my sciatica acting up. Massaging where he is scraping with a massage gun on the lowest setting (slow but hard) feels REALLY good and helps alleviate the pain in my piriformis. I guess it's connected or something... I went back to the gym and stretching my calves/hammies is already helping a ton. Driving triggers the pain in my butt all the way down to my foot. I wear barefoot shoes, but I think I need an insert for the arch because my feet tend to supinate when they hurt a lot (mornings).

Everyone speaks of treatment and relief. How about the cure? If someone who has no history of foot issues or any injuries, developed this from due to stress caused by a bad pair of shoes, how can this be resolved permanently? I'm using a theragun, stretches, foot massage, marine collagen supplement, diclofenac sodium topical gel, and orthotics.
@Reachrehabchiro3 ай бұрын
Musculoskeletal pain is not a disease so there is no “cure”. Its about figuring put how to reduce the tension causing the pain and maintaining balance. Was it a bad pair of shoes, or a weak and unstable foot? Or maybe too much stress on the tissues? It’s likely multifactorial. Ultimately, the tissues need to heal, and the foot and other structures that support the foot need to be stabilized. How to do that depends on the individual based on an expert’s assessment. That’s why clinicians exist.

Thank you inserts in shoes help also for correct support
@Reachrehabchiro Жыл бұрын
True but slippery slope. Insoles are like crutches. The more you use them the more your feet become deconditioned (weak). As that perpetuates, you will likely get to the point where you can’t tolerate being barefoot. Thus you rely on cushy shoes to function. This behavior likely leads to other issues that are not worth it and quite preventable.

@@Reachrehabchirowould recommend barefoot 🦶 shoes
@Reachrehabchiro11 ай бұрын
@jfros9794 Love barefoot shoes but the caveat is you have to slowly build up tolerance to using them. If wearing barefoot shoes is an 8th grade level and your feet are at a 2nd grade level, they won’t be able to handle the load, proverbially speaking.
@Reachrehabchiro11 ай бұрын
@steph7115 To be specific depends on the person, but in general, I recommend shoes with wide toe boxes (most are too narrow), and spending more time barefoot, especially around the house. If you cant handle wood floors, lightly supported slippers is a good start. Walking barefoot in grass is phenomenal as the surface has give and the texture of the ground wakes up all the small muscles in the foot. The foot is meant to move dynamically. Always wearing super cushy shoes cause loss of ability due to lack of need.

What do you recommend, walking barefoot at home or wear crocs?
@Reachrehabchiro Жыл бұрын
Never Crocs 😅. It depends on your level of foot function. Walking barefoot at home is great but some people can only tolerate it for so long. Even with barefoot/minimalist shoes, I always recommend you start with a small amount you know you can handle. Then keep doing a little bit more every day, every week. Building up foot function and capacity is like running a marathon - gotta be take your time, be consistent, and can’t sprint it at any point. Good luck!

@@ReachrehabchiroThat’s interesting. My foot doctor said I shouldn’t walk barefoot. Do crocs as my household shoe. I’ve done barefoot in my home since I was a kid. My pain comes and goes. Stretching before getting out of bed decreases my pain.

That mid area hurts so bad on my left foot. Ive pulled my toes back to stretch it and using a tool to massage it and I’m dying 😢. That area is just so tender I even tried rolling it on a ball and my GOD help me. I’ve had this for a while but it comes and goes. So far it’s been consistent for almost a month and I’m worried it’s gotten worse

Im sorry to hear and would 100% recommend seeing a professional for this. In the meantime, get some basic shoe inserts and wear supportive shoes to take the edge off with daily activities. Hang in there!
