Everyone here on the farm is excited to see seed going into the ground. We got it in right before the rain, perfect timing.

Thanks for the video of the first planting of corn. Much different than back at the other farm and I wish you both and family all the best. I will be watching you as always.

Congratulations all round, I wish for a spell of warm dry weather so that you can get all your drilling completed quickly because no doubt some wheat or new seeds will require spraying!

That's a really nice planter. Looks like you made a great purchase. Hoping to get some corn in the ground here this week. Had 3 inches of rain this past Friday into Saturday. Over 4 inches for the month of May, total.

Planter isn't set right. Main 7x7 bar should be level and the parallel arms should in turn be level. That's why the row units are tipped forward and the row cleaners are digging like they are. Field should be pretty level after the planter rolls over it, not with all those ridges like it is.

Issues now is cost of fertilizer , corn or bean and then diesel to run the equipment. Pa diesel is over $6.58 a gallon for truckers but farmers buying red fuel will save some on taxes. But guess farmers not pushing 300 plus bushels this year with inputs

We had to plow up 25 acres of Hay land because the undesirable variety of Bermuda Grass took over..... So being as the land had a 6in well on it it was suggested by a business partner maybe we should plant watermelons, this year and resprigg next spring.....

I hope you can see your mark. I've seen guys that don't throw that much dirt with a plow. 😂

@@TheFarmingLife Even so, you'll wish you hadn't dug a big trench like that if you get a big rain. It will wash gullies down those hills. Fyi, you can adjust the pitch on those marker discs so they don't throw that much dirt.

@@TheFarmingLife Just an observation but those big trenches you plowed in that light soil will wash in a big rain

What is the purpose of that long arm that sticks out to the operators right from the planter?
@TheFarmingLife Жыл бұрын
It is the marker it allows you to come back at the right distance for your next set of rows. It marks where the center of your tractor should be. It is used when your not using GPS guidance.
