Planting Sunflowers with the Wheel Hoe Seeder Attachment

Sunflowers are a great way to attract pollinators to your vegetable garden, and they are very easy to plant using the Hoss Wheel Hoe Seeder Attachment or the Hoss Garden Seeder.

I purchased one pack of sunflower seeds a number of years ago, and harvest the seeds from the best flowers to make a border fence around my garden. That one pack of seeds has been giving me sunflowers for years. Nature takes care of the rest. Good video.

+Deep South Homestead It's dry anywhere that we don't have drip tape. But that's okay because the weeds don't have near as much fuel to grow.

+2500Farmboy The Wheel Hoe Seeder Attachment seen in this video prefers a firm, clean seed bed. If your soil is fluffy or has a lot of organic residue, you should go with our Hoss Garden Seeder (hosstools.com/product/hoss-garden-seeder/).

I have a hoss hoe ,and i``m looking hard at buying this attachment ,i have a earthworks seeder ,but it is just not reliable enough ,big gaps between plants and then plants all bunched together .I like the indian pass shirt . That raw bar is a hopping spot.

The Seeder Attachment works great if you have a firmer soil -- it doesn't work well on freshly tilled soils. If you have freshly tilled soils, take a look at our Garden Seeder (hosstools.com/product/hoss-garden-seeder/). We love Indian Pass Raw Bar as well!

i ordered the planter attachment yesterday , it arrives today . i will be planting purple hulls ,cream 40s and corn tomorrow .i think it will work in this black florida dirt.

Sounds good. Just make sure to check the seed plate and modify for each variety if necessary. You'll probably need to make a different plate for each pea variety.

The planter did a good job , I was very impressed how it accurately planted seeds almost down to the last seed. Very smooth ,it is a welcome addition to my hoss stable

Was there a follow up video to this? I’m curious as to the results of your seeder. We sell a lot of sunflowers and plant them all by hand since our Jang and Earthway plates aren’t very reliable or consistent.

We no longer carry the seeder attachment due to an issue with some parts. Hope to have it available next year. We do have the double wheel hoe. See attached link. hosstools.com/product/double-wheel-hoe/
