In this video we'll show you how to plaster a room in one hit. I didn't use any slowest, I was on my own and the whole room was plastered in roughly 3 hours and 40mins. This can be tough but I'll show you the things you need to watch out for when doing it for yourself.

3 way wet corner ceases to be a problem when You cut slightly the "wings" of Your twitcher with an angle grinder and give the cut a proper rub down with sand paper. That's the only problem that comes to my mind when we talk about 3 way corner: twitcher damaging adjacent surfaces, because it has wrong angle.

I’m seriously impressed bud- as an intermediate level plasterer that would be a very daunting job to do in one hit as I always seem to rushing to get the first coat on and flattened in time (customers with the heating on flat out doesn’t help) Appreciate your vids bro - thanks mate - top job!

When I was a lot younger I had started to skim, labouring of course first, mixing for a couple of men, keeping everything clean, occasionally getting the opportunity to put on a bit, gradually gathering the momentum and skill to get a good finish, really enjoyed it especially the timing and difficulty, then one day an older guy with 30 years experience, says to me , how he hated scraping at walls and ceilings every day like an old hen! said to me if I'd any sense do something else, he put me right off it. But watching your efforts makes me miss it again.

Brave man taking on all those wet edges! Stressful to watch lol, looks great tho! For me that's a 425 job, day and half, my shoulder and elbow can't take doing the one day hits anymore. The nela twiches are the best I've used, got the mini flex and the 103, use the 103 for straightening and the mini for the last flick, the refina 600 spat is really good for flattening and closing in the top coat if used at the right time and the wall/ceiling is flat, the plazi spat is good for uneven hits just need to hit it a little earlier, it's not great if it's stiffened up too much, with my spats as well when I get a new one (because I haven't stored it in the van properly and gets a nick) I put the corners on a scaffold pole and give it a whack with a bit of batten to slightly bend the corners over then the ends don't cut in.

We used to mix 1 bag of carlite finish and 3 bags of board finish in a black rubbish bin gage used to last 3 hours so you could do the top floor of a 3 bedroom bellway house in one hit. No ceilings back then as they were artexed but good money making days

Hi mate, Blaine you’ve got to try the 103degree flexible corner trowel from ragni. It will change the game for you, only use it towards the later stages (wet trowel, dry trowel) honest you won’t be brushing any corners anymore, you don’t need too. Will save time and a better job

Always bring your bottoms up it's a lot quicker and using a 16 inch hawk and 20x5 carbon steel Marshall town makes it a doddle, I usually put 3 bags in 1st coat and 2 bags second gets you a 50 m2 room no half time but if your unsure put it in 1st mix as its the 1st coat that uses most plaster and goes off quickest

Out of curiosity, why not use a board and stand instead of out of the bucket? It seems a lot slower having to take it from the bucket as well as extra strain on the back

Would never dream of fighting with wet angles on a ceiling and wall, wall to wall is a pain, usually do a ceiling then oposite walls then the other two, use a Marshaltown ( 30 years old now ) and no longer square, find a 1.25 liter Hozelock pump sprayer gets me the finest spray, and I dont plaster for a living, respect for tackling that much in one go.

Have you tried worktall boots yet? Had mine over 6 months and find they are great for typical domestic jobs where your covering artex ceilings, perfect height and easier to get on and off than stilts!

Hey Blaine. After watching a many hours of your vids I’m ready to take the plunge and about to tackle plastering a painted brick wall. Would you recommend i try to remove the paint before applying the hardwall? If it’s not possible to remove all paint, would it be a waste of time to plaster over? Great channel by the way. You could dot and dab over the painted brick mate. PVA beforehand and Dab it when it's dried - I think you've got a better chance of getting it right and it will probably be easier pal.

I’ve watched half a dozen of these videos with the plasterer using stilts and none of them show the plasterer putting the stilts on and getting upright is there a reason for that?

Couple of questions How long where you at that move and what was the addictive you mentioned I used the stilts many moons ago while in London but never kept them going when I got back to Glasgow, getting on now and waiting on a new hip but could still outdo a healthy 20 year old, although still using the tressles and planks, no wonder I need a knew hip (55 now) Wheres a good shout for the stilts?

Wah u say a small room but that’s a lot of angles and different facades to stay on top of I know ide run out of time trying to that lot in one hit. seriously impressive blain u rearly make what is difficult look quite easy I think a heads up for novices on this one should b given in that don’t attempt a job like this unless like u ur experienced otherwise ur gonna throwing more away than putting on the walls and ceiling

Hi Blaine general builder here intermediate plasterer very impressed with the rendering and plaster quick question I've got a large walled area with painted surface I was going to reinforce with wire matting to allow Renee to bond to the wall however this is time consuming and expensive do you have any tips or alternative ways many thanks

Hey, watched your videos and got inspiration to try on my toilet, you are awesome. I have applied bonding with I am happy how it turned. Toilet is pretty small but lots of details , window on one side door on other and off course got myself 16" ragni wich is great but little bit tricky in smaller space. I know that ceiling needs to go first, should I finish ceiling completely and dry and then pick other wall and do the same or do the first coat on ceiling and flaten it and then other walls before second coat? I am afraid if I a mix for all walls first coat that I wouldn't make to put it on in time. 😏 Tnx!

Hi mate! Thanks for watching. If you're new, I would just do one wall/ ceiling at a time. Wet Angles are hard and definitely not for beginners so just do 1 at a time my friend!

Take it slow, it takes years to learn how to knock a room out in one, even this small, I was a spread for 25 years and never pushed myself to hard, always push for a great Finnish rather than a good Finnish 👍

Hi Blaine...nice video. I have a questions please.... do you have a video showing how to deal with small gaps over doorways and narrow strips of plaster down the side of door frames that the trowel will not fit? I see that in buildings I have visited, most plasterers seem to struggle with these.

Better to take Door moulding off first if you can, or use some type of small tool or small trowel to get it on use little water on thin brush to edges and occasional small tool in later stages too flatten,

Have a load of scrapers with differ t widths appropriate for the gap

Great video m8, what other tools do you use for skimming other than hawk trowel and wet brush ex; midget trowel,twitcher,gauger,margin,small tool we were having this discussion other day at work, surprising how many use none thx?

To be honest mate, other than the Speedskim and what you said, that's it. That's pretty much everything I cover. I rarely use the other tools but they are needed sometimes. It just depends on the job pal. Thanks for watching by the way...great hearing from you again 👍

Yeah, they are great to work with mate. Take a lot of stress from your joints and I feel they leave a lovely finish!! I love them 👍

Fair play on getting it done but no way I'd recommend a beginner to attempt this.. They'd lose it before the second coat! This particular job is plastering for experts..!

I was a spread for 25 years, never used stilts, saw too many spreads fall on a patch of plaster on the floor, long way down 😂

Once had a couple of guys plaster a new house we had built and one of them used stilts. Actually saw him skimming the landing ceiling on the edge of the stair well wearing them. Crazy.

They we're Scrim taped mate - it's just the clear stuff so the camera didn't pick it up. Always scrim before plastering 👍

Definitely mate. They break in so much faster and they feel smoother to use on the plaster. Brings a smoother finish in my opinion. They are lovely to use 👍
