Fair play to you mate and thank you for watching! I really appreciate that. Artex can force the plaster to set faster sometimes - it’s a real Bugger to work with so maybe just save yourself by overboarding. It’s actually easier to deal with at times

I could never do a room in a day though, but at least I know if I need a small area done & my plastering pals don't have time then I can tackle it 😊... with the help of extra-time 😂 not all the time but I need to get used to getting it on quicker on the first coat, speedskim then flatten if necessary before the 2nd coat. I've practiced with a sponge float too, silky smooth walls afterwards but as you've said in a previous video, at that stage it just feels wrong to drag a ton of lines through it... plus timings, so I'm still a little nervous of it 😂 Part of me wishes I did over board, I have done at home, but in this instance it's a unit I'm renting & the ceiling has coving, that would've had to come down etc, led to more making good. But I'm pleased I got to where I did, saved it with lots of water, but I was conscious not to over do it & end up with a pat on the floor 😂 Anyway, sorry for the essay but thanks again 👍

Used it for the last ten years great shout brilliant stuff ,don't use PVA or anything else anymore green grit all the way,👍

@@PlasteringForBeginners i lay 1st coat on thick but let it pull right in before mixing 2nd coat! Bloody hate going over blue grit but have had 2 failures with green grit so have no options..

U know that does make sense (as long as ur lighting is adequate) a bit unsociable as far as the hours go but it’s gotta give u more time as it would b much cooler as long as it ain’t a Friday or Saturday though

That’s if you’re wet troweling too early. That’s when you can force tear the plaster. If you just wetting the edges then there’s never any problems 👍

Hi mate. I actually prefer the finish sometimes - I think it dries nicer and it’s probably easier to do because there’s no wasted time with extra mixing. And yeah - that way makes sense…I just like doing wet angles ha!

Not really to be honest - you’d think the plasterboard would have set slower but it was the other way round. That was the only difference in terms of finishing really pal

If it's any help I use the 1.2m one for most of what I do. Good length but not too cumbersome. Recently bought a 450mm one for reveals and narrow bits of wall.

I just like using them mate. Saves time and it’s a bit easier on the body!

I still class it as 2 coats because the first coats has had time to settle into the surface. It don’t always plaster that way…just depends on timing…but I’ve never had a problem doing it. Hope this helps 👍

I often two coat with the same mix, never had any issues. And I’ve also done what Eric the plasterer does on KZfaq and water down what’s left, however I’ve not done too well with that as it goes off ridiculously quick. I’ve also tried watering down what’s left and adding some powder to what’s left like what another plasterer does on here, only issue with that was getting some lumpy bits here and there

I’ve had a tiny splash in my eye before but got caught out last week. Huge dollop went in my eye, it stuck my contact lense to the membrane at the bottom and I had to literally tear it out. Finished the ceiling with one eye, drove from Croydon to Woking hospital, was then sent straight to Chertsey hospital where my eye was checked for ph levels which were fine, burns which I had and it was washed out with 2 litres of saline. Big wake up call
