Customized my rear bumper by painting it black using Plasti Dipped coating. Plasti Dip is a rubberized spray on coating you can peal off and no sanding required.

I really like The Mods you're doing to your truck. I also have a 17 frontier and have plasti dipped the front grille and also gone up one size tire. I am also planning on doing the rough country 2" lift like you did and have been curious about the fog lights. I think you're video on the fog lights was the 2nd one I found on online. I have been thinking about dipping the rear bumper as well and I liked the way yours turned out. I scribed and I'm really liking the content keep it up.

No problem sometimes I take to long and talk to much lol but sometimes I get the job done, I’m not a fan of chrome and it turned out great

@@Xploring_The_Outdoors I haven't had to use the winch yet. I do run the line out a bit and back in every now and then. The instructions say to do this. The Titan is pretty good about getting through everything I throw at it. I think its going to be a decent winch.

I would of sprayed the top plastic parts too. I'm hearing it fads from the sun pretty fast.

Well I can still do that later but I want to replace my rear bumper with a better bumper with the swing out tire carrier on it eventually

Nice job, looks great. I have a 2014 Frontier Pro 4x which is great but the rear bumper is rusting out prematurely while the rest of the truck is fine. Mine has the backup sensors which adds more work! I got a quote of $500.00 to replace my bumper with stock style replacement with choice of color...thinking black. For that price should I go aftermarket instead? Aluminum? Thoughts?

You should’ve taken the entire bumper off, and then used to scuff up the chrome. And then you something along the lines of a truck bed liner. I’m going to take the rear bumper off mine, sandblast the inside of it prime it and then put an undercoating on it, since I live in the rust belt. And every Nissan I’ve ever had the bumpers rust right out. It looks good but you didn’t scuff up the chrome so I think the first time something touches it it’s gonna rip right off.

I’ve done the frontier lettering on my truck and have been considering completely dechroming. How is washing the bumper? Any issues with peeling with the full bumper?

Does it wash as easy at the chrome since it is rubber basically. I like to get a lil mud on the tires if you know what I mean👌🏼

Tim Havner Outdoors I’m gonna sand it down to where it don’t shine put some primer on that grabs the bed liner then coat it. I like a more durable feel no knock to plasti dip just my preference. I bedlinered my grill and it has worked great

I used 2 cans and it’s been over a year and still looks great. It’s holding up better than I thought it would.

Looks great, I've got the same blue truck, thinking about plasti dipping my chrome grill and back bumper. Like the look 👍 Debating on gloss or flat black? Is yours flat black?

Yes both in flat black however my rear bumper has held up great the last couple years but the grill I will be redoing with a bedliner coating. Bugs and other flying objects are peeling the plasti dip off my grill.

So on the rear bumper it’s holding up great but on the front of the truck I did my grill and that wasn’t holding up to the abuse on the front to well. I redid the grill with spray on bedliner.

@@raudelcontreras2102 bedliner spray you have to scuff the surface really well and the plasti dip as long as you clean the surface good sticks well no scuffing required

Still looks the same as it did the day I applied it. I haven’t seen any peeling or damaged spots it’s holding up really well.

The problem with this stuff is one hit or scrape while someone is parallel parking and their goes your plastidip. When It comes to Bumpbers, I would rather use something that clings more aggressive and maybe even Powder Coating it. None the less you have done a great job, and thanks for sharing.

Well my bumper still looks as good as it did when I put it on, it’s been very durable for my experience and no issues with it pealing off at all. I tow trailers, drive off road I use my truck like a truck and it’s been on my bumper for more than a year now and not one issue so far.

@@Xploring_The_Outdoors That's Awesome, That's good to hear, a few of my friends son have had this type of Plastidip put on their rims, Honestly, One little peel and it's on. I guess you can just over spray the peeling part and just simply coffect it? Thanks for sharing again.

@@ELEVOPR Well I’m sure you know the most important part of any paint job is a really good prep work. I washed my bumper really well, let it air dry for about 2 hours then just before spraying I whipped my bumper with alcohol then sprayed. You can spray more on but it’ll be noticeable due to the surrounding area being thicker you’ll see the line and same thing if you’re going to spray over it clean it really well. This stuff is in no way more durable than bed liner or powder coating it’s just cheaper. I think if I was to do rims I’d use the spray can bed liner.
