This is my absolute favorite iteration of Zelda. Noble, beautiful, selfless, and compassionate. A true princess if there ever was.

Seeing her eyes turn into a dragon's never fails to send a shiver up my spine.

Some people actually cried after seeing this. Even I cried. She sacrificed everything to reforge the master sword and deliver it to Link when the time was right

The true secret of the “silent princess” flower is such an amazing bit of writing. Here is this mysterious flower that in the first game, Zelda talks about being incapable of growing those flowers in captivity and wondering why. It’s in the sequel that it’s discovered that the flowers are made by the dragon of light, a.k.a., Princess Zelda herself.

The silent princesses were such a big punch to the gut. I took a picture for my house to remember forever

The fact Zelda was in the opening scene when you’re free falling and no one knew until this moment was insanity

Idk if others noticed but if you listen closely to her roar, you could faintly hear what sounds like her voice.....screaming.

"And she really is silent now" STOP, YOU DIDN'T HAVE TO BREAK MY HEART

That “protect them all!” Always makes me tear up, I’m glad I’m not the only one lol, just the raw emotion in her voice pieced with the realization she’s been the dragon this whole time

I remembered crying after this. Then I stop playing TOTK for weeks. After everything the champions have fought for. All the sacrifices they have made since the second Great Calamity stroke Hyrule. And everything Link did to stand by her side (whether it is his duty or his affection for his princess). It’s like it’s all for nothing. What’s worst? Zelda indirectly forced Link to break the one promise he has made to one of the champions- Urbosa. If you read her diary, all she and Zelda’s mother ever wanted is for her lil bird is to lived her life happily. But she is now Draconified for millennia, it is both upsetting and heartbreaking to see that fulfilling this promise is impossible… as if fate have other plans. I wish Nintendo could show give Link more facial expressions in this game. To shown his despair since Zelda is the only one whom he is most open up to (if you read one of Zelda’s dairy entries in Breath of the Wild).

When I saw this cutscene I had chills and started crying. Literally yelled "ZELDA DON'T DO IT!"

I'd also like to point out the beginning of the scene, where Zelda says she's counting on Mineru. At first, I thought she was talking to the air or even the construct she hands the Purah Pad to. After playing through the game far enough to have the construct summon, I realized, the blue flame above the Pad that looks like a Poe? That flies into the Pad? Yeah, THAT'S Mineru.

"Protect them all!" Damn that line hits so hard.

When I realized what was happening I said aloud, "No Zelda you didn't!"

In German, Zelda said “for you” before she swallowed the Sacred Stone… just showed how strong as a love confession because she just admitted that she does it for Link, and is willingly to do anything for him and their kingdom in the present.

People talk about the sadness of the sacrifice, how scary or tragic it is… I think personally, what stands out to me is her strength and resolve. When she’s in the final memory (after transformation, Zelda’s Wish) she has this moment where her longing expression turns brave, determined and powerful. That’s what I remember best.

This scene broke me so much that I had to put the game down to cry it all out. This one sacrifice solidified why this is my favorite version of the character.

She reforged the Master Sword for 10,000 years while knowing that she’ll never be herself again. GOTY 2023

The mission on defeating Ganondorf is basic good vs evil stuff but after seeing the last dragon tear.... that mission is now personal

My emotional ass cried for all but one of these. I cried when I first watched it both in my own playthrough, but also in four different youtuber's streams. It's _such_ a powerful cutscene. She gave up _everything_ for her kingdom.

I know people can’t control what time of the day they play this app but at night the silent princesses are glowing more impactful at night

The fucking music in all of these cutscenes is so immaculate.

Her power and strength didn’t come from innate magical powers it didn’t come from the goddess’s it didn’t come from any kind of great fairy it came from her selflessness and wisdom it came from her willingness to sacrifice her sense of self for a greater purpose and in that comes real power she may be the most strongest Zelda in the timeline

I get chills every time I see Zelda's eyes change and she shouts, "protect them all!"...

All these comments about how Zelda dry-swallows the secret stone...I'm /really/ curious about how these guys react to when Ganondorf just swallows his whole dang arm.

what's worse; in the japanese version, she doesn't finish her sentence she doesnt say "protect them all", she says "the world-!" and then she transforms (due to the way japanese works she was probably gonna say "save the world" or something like that but. yeah. she doesnt get to finish that)

I love how many people missed that Mineru was the blue spirit orb that went into the purah pad.

My girlfriend grew up never playing video games. BOTW was her first and she loved it, followed by Skyrim. TOTK was her first new release she was so hype for and watching this moment with her was beautiful 💙💛

i think the worst part of zeldas whole shebang shenanigans is the way her eyes tremble, it makes me feel like shes about to have a seizure:(

To the Filipinos on PointCrow’s chat, you can imagine me in literal tears while also not trying to laugh when they said “DARNA!” too soon, but at the same time nice reference TvT context: Darna is a superhero that has a lady swallowing a special stone to transform into her superhero self With that aside, goddammit. The fact that Zelda basically sacrificed herself, her literal self, to repair the master sword… Man I feel bad for Link, sorry man…

The minute Minure brought up dragonifiction I was like Zelda’s the light dragon isn’t she and I was right!

Character-wise, only the ST Zelda is second to this iteration. Followed by OoT & WW. TP's Zelda is not near the top because she needed more development. That game really should have been called _Legend of Midna: Twilight Princess._ This Zelda struggled to find her place, her purpose, and her power, but when the moment called she stood & fought alone for 100 years. After almost a decade of respite, she was flung again into conflict, and this time she fought for _untold thousands_ of years, giving up her own sense of self to do so. This is the best iteration of Zelda. No other has really done near as much.

I was shocked wheb I found this out, I didn’t saw it coming at all. Still working on my game so I am still genuinely wondering if we can turn her back. It's also shocking that all this time we've been wondering how to get her back from the past.. while she has been here in front of our eye's the entire time...

Even after finishing the game and viewing this on repeat playthroughs, this scene is still so hard to watch. It gives me a massive knot in my stomach.

Im just wondering how the Sword ended up in her head, when here it shows her holding the Sword in her hands as she transformed. And her arms are too short to put it in her head.

Watching that cutscene made my sad😢. Also am I the only person who noticed the four sages standing together at the end of the cutscene?

watching the memories again remind me why i got my silent princess tattoo..... this rendition of zelda rly made an impact on me. this story was so fucking sad but so beautifully executed
