I don't know much about Prime Minister Modi, but listening to him speak, I hear a well-educated and competent man who clearly knows his business. He strikes me as patient and sensible, the kind of leader the world needs in these troubled years. Listening to him, I find a greater sense of respect and admiration for PM Modi. I hope that in coming years, the US and India may draw closer together as allies and friends. I also pray that PM Modi has many years of good health and prosperity.

It is not everyday that you get to see the kind of reception, applause and ovations that you saw. These symbolically reflect the renewed respect for Indians at a crucial time in history. The christening of PM's vision document as 'Modi Doctrine' is yet another recognition that will go down history as a significant milestone. We have to go beyond our internal bickerings, vote bank and party politics to be able to truly appreciate his effort (Remember English is not his native language). He could have easily and comfortably spoken in Hindi and the effect would have been lost in translation. This speech is inspirational and motivational not only to us adults but also millions of dreaming youth and aspiring children. Well done Modij. Truly remarkable.
