Thanks for sharing I have that same issue since week. Thought that problem was coming from my coolant reservoir, bcz it have a crack on top, will change both tomorrow.

These modules have a sealed circuit board in them. The seal can fail which allows water penetration, that is the cause of the sporadic shutdown behavior. Disconnect the battery before changing the module.

Trucks been OK since I changed mine however they do go bad after a period of time as the CPC4.

As a Freightliner diesel mechanic I've replaced these alot sometimes a couple time in a year on a single truck. Tall tale sign is also weak click or no click when switching on and off. And the same as in the video, oh and also power instabilities flickering lights dash etc...

Gil funk any chance you can tell to show where bi pass in emergency , which wires to bi pass to power engine , truck ,shutting down no start. PNBD. Thx

@@KS-cu1zc Their is a way but would not recommend to do, due to alot of sensitive electronics like your Sam cab Sam chassis, etc...

I got 2016 Frightliner Cascadia when driving hill assist, engine light, abs lights come on and it goes to manual from automatic. Do you know what is the issue?

Hi, what I did to mine 7 months ago was I bypassed the pndb , from the main wire coming from the batteries I ran a 1/0 awg wire to a bus bar, from the bus bar I ran three (6 awg ) wires to the right side of the pndb , these three wires come from the pndb to the trucks harness and connect to various point in the truck there's not enough room to connect directly from the main wire to the pndb hence the bus bar. I've been running like this for 7 or 8 months no problem, also cover the nuts connections with silicone to prevent rust and a short, do this at your own risk, as this could cause a fire if done incorrectly. Or spend $600 every two years or so when this goes bad again.

Interesting🤔 I've been good since replacement and spray with terminal cleaners to avoid rust. I'm seeing a trend that they last up to 5 years.

Check All batteries and cables... could be corrosion and if/when you have the module replaced have a bead of silicon ran across the top and sided of it...ever since the cascadia came out this is the problem and freightliner Knows it.. rain water runs from under the rain tray and corrodes the connections and fuses in the module 😉

I’m not sure if this is my problem guys. So, as I’m driving I hit a bump and all ignition lights turn on and my semi loses power for like 2-3 seconds. I saw my headlights flicker once.

You could, as well as keep spare fuses on standby. it sometimes give you signs it's going bad and have to replace the entire module. GL

I don’t know if it’s my problem too, but mine is more often when I turned the switch on, it will go through all the clicking sounds it makes when turning the switch, but nothing comes on the dashboard till about a minute or 2 after I start the truck. Then once I get going, maybe 50 to 100 miles all the lights on the dashboard will go off and sometimes they will come back about 4 to 5 seconds after and sometimes it will stay off for about a minute or two , then they will come back on. But no power loss when I am driving. Could this be the same issue?

I just did that but the socket touched another metal surface and it caused a huge spark. Now I have another electrical issue.

I have a 2016 cascadia. It's doing this now. So I need to change the pnbd? Or is it just a fuse like you just found in yours blown?

Are you on the side of the roads? You can check the fuse first if you are stranded but eventually you will need to change the box itself, it starts acting up after 500-600k miles. It will only get worse if not addressed.

@@royfredericks2231 not stranded. It just started doing this last week. It also does it if idling parked. Trying to see if its actually my Qualcomm making it shut off and lose power? It says Eld malfunction on Qualcomm

@@jessicawhite3893 Ok, your Qualcomm may have the 3g and needs to upgrade to the 4g. Mine has the same problem which I need to replace but has nothing to do with PNDB. Replace it and hope it helps.

Breda if yuh have the kill switch on the side of your seat. It maybe best to replace that too

My truck freightliner cascadia 2016 automatic.. The truck won't start no crank sound just giving the click normal sound when I try to fireup no check engine light showing and by the way I'm sure my truck has power but still no start . I was doing just too make sure using the battery cable to make sure charging up the truck battery for some time than try again but the truck still no start and no crank sound. not sure what's going on .

Everyones experience can be a little different. I Suggest you get to the closest dealer and buy one asap then try doing it yourself or have a mechanic change it. But I went months without changing mine. Good luck

Start by checking the fuse that's in the same box, could be something else so you may have to run diagnostics.

I have no clue about a beeping but, I have no issues since change, check the fuse in the PNDB box. I would start there. GL

Hey man that beeping noice you mentioned it’s like 3 or maybe 4 time beeping when you start the truck and sometime while driving sounds the same beeping 3 to 4 time ? Any similar issue I just got into this problem after changing the battery’s thanks 🙏

There's 2 pnbd, one under by the deff and connected to the frame, does your truck have that? Mine is 2015 cascadia

Hi what did you do when your low voltage light came on because mine is on and the buzzer noise and my gauge read 12 volts but it putting out 14volts?

@@cesarcastillo9561 How long did you last with it? I literally had my truck turn off on me last night in ATL, hoping I make it to drop my load tonight. I haven’t shut off the truck lol.
