As a percussionist myself I'm always delighted when I see a cartoon character actually play the correct beat, instead of just moving randomly out of sync as a result of lazy animation. Even though this one is very simple, the beat and Incineroar's expressions make this one so much better for me.

An opening comma is needed before "when," since you chose to have a closing one after the parenthetical that it starts ("when Lucario had to breathe in"). Also, it's breathe, not breath. The verb is breathe, the noun is breath.

@@TheGrammarPolice7 counter grammar policing: if there was a comma there the whole sentence would sound unnatural because the part about lucario breathing in isnt a non-essential element, like extra details that arent needed to understand something or a side tangent, its a crucial part of the sentence and the joke. the comma that is there represents a pause in the sentence for dramatic effect, not part of it being sectioned off bc its unnecessary

It's the little details that matter the most. How Lucario has a couple frames in which he's panting, the different animation for the trumpet and the horn, that progressive look of "should I help him?" on Incineroar. Splendid!

I played the trumpet in high school. It's pretty accurate, especially since I've also got asthma. Teacher always wrote me passes to stay a couple minutes after class to take my inhalers if I needed. He was a great teacher.

@@SuperJDBlank That's an extremely advanced technique that really only industry professionals learn, but yeah I guess that might have been a good way to get around the issue. From what I understand though, it takes a long time to learn how to do it, so it probably wouldn't be a practical thing for a high school teacher to attempt to teach their students. They'd have to learn how to do that on their own time.

@@YippingFoxFairly certain that, although it may not seem as such in-game, the end usually fades out. I also thought that the song didn't just start out like that, but that there's an intro. If either or both of those are indeed the case, they'd then have to make sure to clip the song properly

Love this! My only suggestion is next time you animate drums make sure to have the persons hands grip toward the end of the stick. That way the motion is coming from the wrist and not the entire arm.

I’m literally Lucario in this - I’m a musician myself and I literally exhaust myself through practicing sometimes, mainly because I set my standards really high and always strive to reach them, especially if and when other people don’t take music as I do. I feel every ounce of Lucario’s pain here.
