Can I beat a Pokemon Hardcore Nuzlocke challenge in Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon using only Normal types?

Nuzlocke rules:
Fainted Pokemon must be permanently boxed
Only the first encounter on any given route may be caught (dupes clause)
All pokemon must be nicknamed
Hardcore Rules:
Always Set mode
No items from the bag option in battle (held items are ok)
No overleveling the next gym leader

King's rock doesn't boost crit on moves that already have a flinch chance in later gens and i think gen 7 is one of them

I think a good idea for a nuzlocke is that you can only have 1 Pokémon of each type on your turn and if you encounter something on your team that has same type you can’t catch it

I normally try to play Pokemon like that already. It's possible and I'd argue the easiest form of a Hardcore Nuzlock run but it's still an interesting way to play

No no, turn it around. If you encounter a pokemon of the same type you have in your party you HAVE to replace your previous party member(s). This would ensure a great diversity, probably do it in gen 8 to make leveling easyer.

After the First trial and after you have Tauros, There's thief in the Cavern, (It's a TM, you can break rocks with Tauros to get.) I would recommend it against Marowak. It takes away it's Thick Club.

A cool idea for a run could be to start a run with 6 randomized pokemon, but you can't catch/acquire any more for the rest of your run. You'll only have those 6 and if you lose some you won't have a full team

I recently did a similar run in ultra sun and yes serene grace dunsparce is incredible (also lucky you getting an adamant one). My final squad was: Coat the furfrou Slippers the dunsparce Jacket the kangaskhan Pyjamas the beware Bucket the fearow & V neck the lopunny (Yes I had a clothes theme)
