For the longest time, I honestly thought that Victreebel wasn't showing affection to James, I thought it legit didn't like James and wanted to eat him. It's easy to see the affection that Cacnea and Carnivine had for James given that they were smiling and looked happy, but Victreebel never looked happy, which for me always made the act funnier.

How am I only now starting to see the parallels between Brock and James? Their pokemon tend to unintentionally hurt them but they shower them with affection regardless. I love 'em both

On an interesting note, in Japanese: Jessie's Wobbuffet = Brock Giovanni's Persian = Ash James's Mime Jr. = Pikachu Ash's Bulbasaur = Jessie Ash's Charizard = James Brock's Pinceo/Forretress = James' Weezing.

I really enjoyed seeing James’ Victreebel, although it wasn’t the best opponent for Ash’s gang. (Mostly because of story reasons, it had to lose almost always, I guess) But it encouraged me to catch a Bellsprout in LeafGreen, and it was quite strong there for me.

As a kid, I used to think that Kojiro’s (James’s) Utsubot (Victreebel) was always trying to eat him. It came as a surprise when I eventually found out that it was actually displaying affection towards Kojiro (James) much like with his later grass type pokemons, lol.

I remember James’ Victreebel after getting it back from the same daycare that Butch and Cassidy ran just to steal over people’s Pokémon, it always jumped on his head which was annoying but I guess that’s how it showed it’s affection back then. It walked away with the other victreebel that the con man sold James.

Poison is neutral to Victreebell. It’s also part grass. It it was pure poison type, it wouldn’t be affected.

The start of James' weird relationships with grass types lol I loved Victreebel I miss it ): I wonder what gender James' Victreebel was because I know it fell in love with the other one but couldn't tell which one was male or female. Side note, Jessie and Meowth are so mean to James. Poor dude xD I'm happy you're getting more subs and hope you continue to take off (:

James is my favorite character in the whole series. All his Pokémon love him, and he goes out of his way for them like Ash and the gang do for theirs. He’s also had the most solid roster; Weezing, Victreebel, Chimecho, Cacnea, Mime Jr, etc.

Isn’t it ironic that the victreebel was vastly outclassed indirectly by a bellsprout and later directly by an oddish. It also most certainly would’ve been embarrassed by Zach’s bellsprout had it appeared. Good thing bellsprout and victreebel never met. Losing to its unevolved state would’ve destroyed its confidence for good. The fact that even Misty’s goldeen beat victreebel is even more sad. Let’s hope it’s mate never sees it’s battle skills.

@@ProfessorAlexSilver I just realized, the only Pokémon that didn’t smother James with love are Yamask, Amoongus, and Inkay. I bet Victreebel is living her best life, what if she made a cameo appearance one day as a mother of at least three Bellsprout. Also I feel Victreebel would make a good potato sack, she’d just pick up someone with vine whip, place them in her mouth, and bounce around happily as if in a sack race.

In her first appearance, she used to be voiced by Eric Stuart by only saying "Bel" but later they decided to use the Japanese dubbing of her instead in later appearances , hence that *"AAAHHHHHH!!!"* part.

I remember when I got older I looked up a KZfaq video on how many times the victreebel bit James on the head it was like a 3 to 5 minute video used to be on KZfaq but it's no longer there I'm trying to look for it now but I can't find it it's probably taken down because of copyright or something.

You know, I actually found it pretty funny everytime James’s victreebel chomps on James’s head everytime James calls it out during battles and even at the wrong times! Which is my favorite thing about their bond! James’s Pokémon must really like him! 😁 one thing I’m not a big fan of is how victereebells voice sounds, to me it sounds like a girl screaming in an old mid 1900s horror movie or something and it sounds a little weird. But anyways those are my thoughts on James’s victreebel! I’m just letting you know that. 😁👍

It indeed is. In paranormal series called a haunting (man dabbles in the occult) you can hear an ear piercing scream. It's supposed to be from the little girl, but i 'm almost sure it was Victreebel doing a voice over. 💅👀👂
