It’d be cool af! It could use its fairy type moves to help put out fires, it could use its ribbon feelers to calm sick and injured pokemon. It could know fairy wind to push back opponents, wish to heal the sick and injured, mud slap to put out fires, and magical leaf to cut down stuff in their way!

It still surprises me to this day that instead of the cool Eeveelution squad with Virgil being the final battle for Ash in the Unova league, he faces a guy who only brought five Pokemon to a battle and still lost. It was sitting right there in basket with cookies but somehow they picked the worst case scenario. Embarrassing is an understatement.

Though not nearly as bad as when Ash lost to his friend/rival Ritchie because Charizard refused to battle his Pikachu, which was considered a loss. Also, that Squirtle falling asleep due to sleep powder was considered a loss as well...yeah, that was a thing way back when.

Vergil was probably one of if not the most Interesting and Underated Side character in Pokemon, he deserves his own mini series like Pokemon origins, Twilight wings, or Merin's mega evolution,

It's always seemed so weird to me that Virgil wasn't used to introduce Sylveon. Sylveon was announced in February 2013, while the league aired in November to January, concluding in the same week that X & Y were announced. Imagine if Virgil's battle with Cameron had come down to Hydreigon VS Eevee, and then suddenly Eevee evolves into a new type with a massive advantage against Dragons? It was a tee-up!

I always thought he was a pretty interesting character. I feel like there was a massive missed opportunity for ash to fight this guy. Like ash should have defeated Cameron and then go on to fight and probably lose to Virgil (or at least that’s how I think it should have gone)

I think that's how literally everyone wanted it to go. I didn't want Ash to win Unova, but that doesn't mean I want him to lose to the guy with less going on in his head than him in that region instead of the cool Eeveelution battle with Virgil.

Blame Ash for helping Cameron out because there was an ep where Cameron just camps near the arena and forgot to put in his badges for the arena. If Ash never helped Cameron out or if he never told him that he needed to send his badges into the arena in order to participate, then Cameron wouldn't have gotten into the arena, and then Ash wouldn't get defeated by Cameron and has a chance to battle Virgil and probably might even become Unova champion if he wins against Virgil instead of battling Cameron.

Agreed... Virgil was a WASTED character from never battling against Ash in a full battle during the league nor did his Eevee mean anything since it didn't evolve into the new fairy type Sylveon plus it came into the franchise too early to promote its signature Z-move, Gigantamax or Let's Go Eevee... Darn shame -_-

Virgil is such an amazing character I really like his personality and what does to help other people. It was no surprise that he won the unova league. It really sucks how we weren't able to see him battle in the league. I love his characteristics and he has such a big heart. I learned a lot more then I knew before from this video. I loved all the other series but the Black and White series has to be my favorite. I love his eevee a lot too. Virgil is such an amazing character and I will forever love his personality and heart. His team of the evolutions of eevee were pretty cool too. My favorite evolution of eevee is Glaceon. Thank you so much for making this and I will be there to watch your next video. Bye

Nice Background Changes Professor, reminds me of my other professors who use virtual backgrounds on zoom while teaching. But you nailed the background. Virgil's eevee had the potential to directly evolve into a Sylveon and promote XY, but it seems like a stretch. If he were to return, it would be amazing to see him own a Sylveon, considering that Chloe has an Eevee now, we can expect him to return. Thank you for the class, Professor.

This character was completely wasted. He was setup to be the Harrison/Tyson of this league and ends up not even having a proper battle with Ash. They should've just remove the Axew filler episode and make Ash have a battle with Virgil. Anyways, since we're on the topic of Unova, you should do Ash's Krookodile.

I remember Virgil, he’s from the eevee rescue squad after developing a liking for them as a child. Has eevees from gen 1-5 and I know he won the whole Unova championship. I have a pretty liking of eevee myself, it’s cute.

One of my favorite Kanto Eevee evolutions is Flareon, and my two favorite ones in Johto are Espeon. I used the Psychic and Dark types in Pokemon Colosseum, and Fire type in its sequal, when I evolved the Eevee.

I remember thinking for sure that Virgil’s Eevee was gonna reaper in XY and evolve into Sylveon. I mean they took the time to acknowledge it was a female which would have fit with Sylveon’s feminine appearance, and this episode all about Eevee evolutions happened just a few months before Sylveon was revealed to the public. I’m convinced they were at some point planing on that happening.

One thing I liked about the Gen 5 anime was how minor characters from tournaments and such would return later in the series like Dino. While the rest of the series had its shortcomings, that detail really made the world feel more alive.

When I first played Pokemon Blue, I picked Bulbasaur and water Pokemon were hard to find and it took forever to get the Good & Super Rods, so I evolved the one Eevee in the game into Vaporeon and took it to the end! So I was thrilled in Diamond/Pearl that I could finally catch them in the wild at the Trophy Garden!

How cool is it to have every full evolved forms of evee? Also I liked Virgil’s characters in the unova saga, as well as Cameron’s & Stephan’s characters who competed along side ash and were friends I thought they were all pretty cool people in the series.

And this is EXACTLY why I love Eevee so much, AND why I did TWO versions of Eevee teams: all-male ("Eevee Brothers") and all-female ("Eevee Sisters") as a "Pokémon research experiment." Those two teams helped me prove three things: 1) Female Pokémon are STRONGER than their male counterparts. 2) Artificial stat boosters (Protein, Iron, Carlos, etc.) are WAY overrated and WAY overused. (I didn't use ANY boosters on the Sisters, and statistically overall they BEAT the Brothers!) 3) Healing items are also spammed to the extreme. (The Sisters were on an "organic" diet made of Berries, MooMoo Milk, and Fresh Water ONLY. The ONLY healing items I used were Revives and Full Heals. ) Ultimately, my research earned me the "title" of "Professor Eevee" by my Pokémon TCG League Gym Leader. Until our League disbanded a few years ago (our Gym Leader passed away, and his wife closed the game shop he ran), that was the ONLY "name" I went by. Lol I even wore a lab coat with an Eevee appliquéd on the breast pocket!

@@ProfessorAlexSilver Yes, Professor, it was quite intense. In fact, I still have all my notes from it, as well! They're hand-drawn grids on notebook paper that I later transferred into a collection of Microsoft Excel spreadsheets. I painstakingly wrote down every stat as each of the Eevees leveled up from Level 15 to Level 100 (including when they evolved and if they learned/were taught a new technique/TM/HM). I was honestly quite proud of my work.

Chances are if the writers come up with the other type evolutions for Eevee then Virgil would possibly have to increase his team to have all the Eevee evolutions. Could do a video on Cameron since he was certainly interesting his how he was very short minded on things and had a rivalry similar to Sawyer.

Here's an idea that I personally think could've greatly improved the Unova League: cut out the Axew episode, shorten Ash vs Cameron, and have Ash win. That would show that despite being dumbed down this series, he still beats someone like Cameron instead of making him look worse. Then have Ash battle with Virgil, show both their strength (showing Ash grown and improved), have some good development either side, then have Ash lose. That would also keep Ash's league progression consistent

I'm not sure if anyone mentioned this to you in this comment section, but you made a slight mispronunciation of Cryogonal as Cyrogonal. The prefix cryo has the same relation to ice as pyro has to fire, so that's actually why its name is as such. Honestly I've always thought Cryogonal were one of those pokemon that looked like it was meant to be emotionless servants(like the Regi family) so seeing expressions on their face(like the trapped one being scared) is actually kinda endearing.

Wonder if Virgil will return in Journeys and is revealed to have obtained Sylveon, Partner Eevee and Gigantamax Eevee (and perhaps some new Eeveelutions introduced in Scarlet and Violet if they manage to do) He might know why Chloe's Eevee won't evolve into any of the 8 known Eeveelutions

I’m predicting that his Eevee eventually evolves into Sylveon. He has a deep bond with Eevee, it’s the only Eeveelution he doesn’t have yet, and it’s taken down a dragon type before

I love Eevee. Even in Pokémon Go the eeveelutions prove very powerful. Having both Sylveon and Glaceon as hundo and at the latter at level 50 I can say that without a doubt both prove admirable dragon slayers.

I wish Ash could have battled him. In a better world, Ash and Cameron would’ve battled in the preliminaries, having a fighting type face off with Riolu vs Scraggy, a double evolution would occur, turning the match into Lucario vs Scrafty, Ash wins. Everything else leading up to the top 16 is the same, Ash vs Stephan is also the same except he uses Boldore instead of Krookadile. Krookadile instead is used in the battle with Trip, which is a full battle and ends with Pikachu taking down Serperior. The next battle would be Ash vs Virgil, and would end with Pikachu vs Umbreon, I think it should be Umbreon instead of Eevee because Umbreon was Virgil’s first Pokémon. Virgin obviously wins, but this would’ve been a better league than what actually happened with Cameron.

Honestly sounds way better than what we got. One of Ash's lesser mons in that gets something. We get a full battle with Ash and Trip. Ash vs Stephan is still there (let's be honest that was the only decent part about this league) and Boldore gets some time to shine. And we finally get Ash vs. Virgil and Team Eevee. Great idea but alas, that was not the timeline we live in.

Red Herring: Played with in that many expected him to be the one to face Ash and beat him, then go on to win the whole league. He never battled Ash, but he did battle and defeat Cameron (who did beat Ash), *and Virgil did go on to win the entire league.*

Virgil have all the Eevee evolution team except for Sylveon although back them Pokemon Generation six haven't made their appearence yet. Maybe somehow Virgil's Eevee will one day evolved into Sylveon itself and complete the Eevve evolution team🤞.
