Roy has indeed not received enough development compared to Liko and especially Dot. Although I like Liko and Dot more as characters, I still think Roy deserves more character development

I still remember when people were complaining about how much development Roy was getting and that Liko was getting left behind.

Glad someone acknowledged how vague bros backstory is lol. I’ve always thought they had Roy speak too little about himself for someone as talkative as him. Like his childhood feels like a mystery waiting to be revealed. Who are bros parents actually? Where are they? Are they even alive? And his grandpa too. How do we still not know bros name, thats a little weird. Also ain’t no way his grandpa just “found” that ancient pokeball. Ain’t no way he didn’t know what was inside and I honestly suspect he knew what Liko’s pendant was but lied and played into the “old man” thing. Bro might know more about the ancient adventurer than even Diana and is just keeping stuff to himself. Like even his reason for not wanting Roy to travel, like how was Roy supposed to talk about someone else’s goal when he got nobody lol? Nobody on that nowhere island was interested in being a trainer but him, was he really just gonna sit around and wait until Roy ran into some random ass Pokemon? Nah, I think there’s more to it. But he probably felt more at ease knowing Roy was thinking about someone else in his pursuit as a trainer and that he wouldn’t be travelling the world alone thanks to the RVT. In any case, I’m glad Roy is starting to get some more spotlight, second arc gave him zilch lol outside of some moments here and there. Easily my favourite Roy episode just because it felt fresh. No offence to the baby croc cuz I love him but he always gets all the spotlight and love so it was nice that Wattrel, now Kilowattrel got some too and let’s hope they both start cooking in future episodes separately and together. But yeah, great video, gonna sub real quick ;) Anyway, Roy’s my fav, followed by Dot and then Liko, so I enjoy all three of them, just Roy the most cuz I feel he has the most potential as a character. I just hope the series gives Roy like a “Serena” moment that’s like the turning point for his character. Idk what Roy’s backstory will be though, any ideas?

I definitely hope to see more character development and backstory for Roy moving forward. Although he has already grown quite a lot in experience, like with his win against Artazon. I find it interesting that the Horizons anime is taking it slowly to catch and evolve Pokemon, but I quite like that because actually.

I really am looking forward to ryme vs roy cause that's probably when Roy's fuecoco is going to evolve and possibly get a ghost move
