I like how they were introduced as real people and given their own personalities and more in-depth look into how they act outside of battle but I also didn’t like how the kid elite four member got made to look weak because even if it’s a friendly match she definitely should’ve won 😭😭

They ruined the Elite Four. They used to be masters at controlling monsters with the power to level cities. Now any toddler can be an elite four.

This series represents the current regions in a way better way than Journeys did. I appreciate Horizons for that.

these episodes were fire only got 2 issues 1 iona basically one shotted coperajah ik that quzxly kinda powered it up a lil but still thats an e4 mon and it got one shotted seconf i was really hoping wed get an evo dot and roy pokemon not being evolved yet is getting a bit ridiculous im pretty sure its just for marketing but still at this rate they never gonna be fully evolved

I love the extra dialogue and backstory we get with the Elite Four within the SV DLC. Once you invite Poppy to be a guest at Blueberry Academy, you find out that she was invited to be an E4 member after Geeta found out she was being bullied and shunned for being too strong. Lots of kids were afraid of her and she had no friends until Geeta asked her to be a part of the league

You know maybe Horizons was way better than I thought... Whenever a series tries to do a new protagonist it comes off as complicated. If a series has to let go of a main character that character has to be memorable. It reminds me of the Legend of Korra, where people years ago hated Korra as a protagonist. They hated her for replacing Aang and they didn't like the series writing as well as Korra's arc. Admittedly some parts of Korra didn't age well like the love triangle between her, Asami and Mako. The cast not as developed in contrast to Avatar The Last Airbender. As well as the show cancelled. Personally, I believe Korra was a good heroine but the issue was that Aang's story overshadowed Korra's arc as being better executed. In contrast though, Liko is a better character in contrast to Ash. I believe despite people's complaints Liko is a good protagonist to replace Ash. Unlike Korra's, her predecessor didn't have a huge arc or had anything else. Unlike Aang, Ash was rather a static character in general especially during the early series. The typical Shonen Protagonist and it wasn't until later seasons develop Ash. For me Liko was needed as Ash's replacement, the opposite to his Yang. She was an anxious and unsure girl trying to do her best but her insecurities as well as helping others is holding her back. I believe the reason why early fans hated Korra before was that people felt Korra was too perfect as well as knowing the three elements. Also her attitude in the early seasons was a confident and cocky girl which might rub people the wrong way. She reminds me of Hazel from the Fairly Godparents a New Wish. Both she and Hazel are basically heroines that replaced the main big male lead. Unlike say Timmy and Ash, both aren't confident enough with their skills and despite gaining allies like Hazel getting Cosmo and Wanda and Liko habing Spirgattito. Both aren't strong mentally because they're unsure. Which is why I'm glad Pokemon made the risky decision of having a female star in the main series. I believe it was a marketing strategy to have a bigger female audience. But besides that I enjoyed Liko and I feel she deserves support. She's different from Ash and not just an Ash replacement. We all love Ash but he wasn't a deep character. To me Ash is like a vintage video game character while Liko is the modern video game character. Ash is our childhood but Liko is us growing to adulthood. Liko represents that some trainers aren't confident with their prowess but with the help of themselves and others they can sprint back. That's why I hope Liko doesn't get the Korra situation where the only reason she's hated is because she's a replacement of a former lead.
