I think both games fun version exclusive characters and they all elevate the games in fun ways, Bea is a badass martial artist fighting type trainer and Alistair is a powerful psychic ghost type trainer, Gordie is a really cool rock type trainer and Melony is a sweet ice type trainer with a competitive spirit, Avery is a pompous magician and Clara is hot. Both games have great characters and I don’t think any are better than the other. :)

For me the hardest choice was picking which version of Lycanroc I wanted. Sun had Midday while Moon had Midnight which also they’re both look really cool. Thank god Gen 8-9 made them time based evolutions instead of exclusive evolutions.

@@edgargaebolg9307 Yes however you could only evolve Rockruff into one of the evolution depending on which game you had (aside from Dusk that can evolve in both Ultra Sun/Moon since it’s a special pokemon). It wasn’t until Sword/Shield that that you can get both evolutions in the same game with the day time cycle.

Fun fact. You could catch either form of Lycanroc no matter what version you have. The exclusivity only applied to evolving it.

In FRLG, you could literally purchase the evo stones at the Dept. Store in Celadon (except the Moon Stone), but having played through it recently, there are more than enough stones to fill out the Pokédex.

The marketing idea for two versions was to encourage trading with your friends. It has since rounded about to money, yes. but, it does still encourage you to make friends. Its why I will argue people saying you need to buy everything are useing it as an excuse for feeling lonely.

What I usually do for the Pokémon duel releases is that I usually buy the game I want and if I really give a damn I’ll ask for the second one for Christmas or something at a relatives house and hope no one asks questions, but considering Scarlet and Violet that will most definitely stop with the next duel release

Dome fossil. Kabutops, Mew, and Lucario are my top 3 favorite pokemon of all time. Then Zoroark, Arcanine, and Buizel(NOT floatzel). Dome fossil is always coveted. (Special mentions are Squirtle my favorite starter, and Treeko, whom is apparently what my soul is for some reason)

For the Eon tickets as long as one person had the original eon ticket you can use the record mixer at the poke center to give eon tickets to other versions. Only works though with the original file.

See, only being able to get Calyrex Ice or Shadow i was okay with in SWSH, but NOT being able to get both Regieleki and Regidrago after paying MORE than just the base game kinda pissed me off. It’s not like it’s a version exclusive like the Future Swords of Justice or Past Legendary Beasts, or even a common duo like you mention the fossils, but even most of those you can get the one you missed in the post game. That I’m okay with, but the way the new Regis were handled should be a crime

You can get both sun and moon lengendaries with just one game through a portal where you originally encounter the box legendary, (when nebby evolves) but its at a specific hour, and all it does it transport you to a different universe thats just the other version of the game, and from there you can get cosmog

If you play the games on different accounts, you can transfer them into Pokémon home, then place them in the version you play the most. You can do this an infinite amount of times. That's why I have 6 Urshifus

It's ability bypasses protect, which is commonly used in VGC for defensive counterplay. So basically it's near impossible to defend against it

If you mix records with someone who got the eon ticket distribution you can get one yourself without cheats, meaning it’s still possible to do that event legitimately in 2024.

The biggest sin was locking huntail and gorebyss behind the stern part and then having the gall to force you to choose your deep sea item. That is just petty considering in gen 3 neither are actually good. Huntail needed the physical special split so he can take advantage of his moveset and gorebyss by the time you get it would only get two moves to take advantage of that special attack stat. Literally your only other options were ice beam and rain dance because gorebyss is SO SLOW

Youre talling me. I got the wrong Alola version, Ultra Sun and Sun. My brother had the one with Inkay. Inkay is one of ky favorite pokemon of all time.
