@AkproXR so is there actually any difference from cranks/bottom ends from ves to non ves? I want to bolt on 02 VES jugs on my 99 bottom end cannot be done? (obviously other than the drilled out oil galories for deleting oil injection from 97-01)
@AKproXR3 жыл бұрын
Ves top end will bolt right up. The biggest difference in bottom ends is minor case revisions (for example, where to torque stop contacts the cases is different) and the 97-98 cranks have the locator ring in a different place then the 99+ cranks do.

I can’t verify with the slp’s, though I have run stock ves pipe on non ves before without issue.

No doubt, would you be willing to make another video? Diving a little deeper into the differences? Like port dimensions and how far down the ports start etc...
@johnfeyereisn72592 жыл бұрын
Thats all good information but I have a couple things to add: the 700 non ves heads vary alot between modles and years, i had several that I compared and found that even though the volume was very close some had tighter squish clearance than others, probably enough to affect performance. Also the bottom side of the transfer ports are better on the ves cylinders as well which I feel is contributing to better performance.

@BilThomas8 ай бұрын
now say you’d a ves cylinder head sitting around would it be worth it to swap it onto a older non ves 700 now obviously won’t know exact numbers but do you have a rough idea of how much an increase in power that would make ? Assuming probably have to dial it in tune carbs n stuff etc but I’m an idiot when it comes to this stuff so sorry if my questions convoluted thanks .
@AKproXR8 ай бұрын
Hard to tell an exact number, but the early VES 700’s made near 10HP more then the non ves 700’s. But that is with higher CR heads, different timing, different carbs etc later ves 700’s (2003+) made around 5hp more then a non ves. The 700 VES port layout is what a lot of people used as “trail porting” for non ves 700’s. So there are gains from the swap, but an exact number is unknown.
